@tutorialconr Hi.. yeah by ear. Tabs are against my religion. Some tabs are ok, but usually they teach you the wrong way to play and use easier notes to follow, resulting in flat and boring interpretation. I think the best method is going by ear.. and most of all.. watching the original. In this song, i watched Dave in 'Live in pompeii'.. and it's not perfect, but I'm glad you liked it anyway! thank you ;)

Hi. During the funky section how did you get such an aggressive sound when you played the solo, but when you went back to rhythm, have such a clean sound? I guess what I'm asking is, did out turn the GT-6 on and off for the solo and rhythm parts?

@PinkFloydFreak95 You guessed it. let's say on pedal 1 I have the clean sound.. (crunch really), and then on pedal 2 a Fuzz distortion sound... and I switch between the two at the right moment..

At the beginning, how do you pluck the strings, when youre doing the slide bit? PLEASE, PLEASE, TELL ME!

@TheMiloszdevil you don't pluck the strings. You use the slide as if it were a violin bow.. The left hand is really doing nothing but holding the strings at top fretboard. Then, slam the pick up selector to 'Bridge pick up'.. then use the slide like a violin bow delicately moving up and down the fretboard on the the little E string. Use lots of compressor, reverb and some delay.. and Bob's your uncle !! your playing the intro to Echoes ! :)

@jonboy82 Hi.. well.. it's not really the GT-6 doing the work. I use a basic crunch sound from the GT-6 and then, I add 'virtual' VST's from Ableton live programme, to fill them out and make a richer sound. I never use set sounds. Every song I do, personlize the sound during the mix, so I couldn't give you a standard setting. I'm sorry I can't be of help. The distortions of the GT-6 are horrendous and need a lot of help from VST's.

I can't read music and I don't know scales or notes names and I would teach mistakes no doubt... a part from that, it takes a lot of time to do lessons.. which i don't have lately. This is fantastic work.

I hate to be predictable, but I do think the song benefits a great deal from the middle part with the screaming, then that absolutely amazing, soaring guitar section leading back into the verses. It's just beautiful how the Floyd managed to bring the whole experience back around like that.

I'm not complaining, this version is great, but if anybody would be able to pull the rest of the song off, it would be you. I look forward to potentially hearing it in the future! :)

@magicmichele2 ciao michele: dovresti fare una ricerca sul sistema dei 4 cavi per la Boss GT10. Cambiano i settaggi dai vari Boss. Per il GT6 era cosi:

1: Regola la GT-6 in modo che OD/DS è su "custom".

2: Cavo da chitarra ai 'boost, distorsori (pedalini) e poi al ingresso normal sul GT-6.

3: Cavo da GT-6 'effects out' ad Ampli 'in'.

4: Cavo da Ampli "Send" (sul retro) a GT-6 effects in.

5: Cavo da GT-6 normal output ad Ampli "Return".

Sinceramente è un bel casino..! ;p

@magicmichele2 no.. dovresti fare l'opposto. i distorsori e boost nel entrata jack principale davanti. e poi le modulazioni (chorus, flanger, reverb, delay, chorus) nel send return... prova.. fa un mondo di differenza ;)

@magicmichele2 Non uso l'ampli. Dal vivo uso un brunetti MC2 ma non è molto 'pedal friendly'. Vado diretto in mixer dal Boss GT6. Uso gli effetti VST per ampliare un suono più tagliente. Un 'saturator' per essere precisi. Nel tuo caso, userei l'orange valvolare sicuro. Come ampli direi che un Fender Bassman, un Vox AC30 o anche l'orange valvoare vanno bene. Il top sarebbe un HiWatt. Mi raccomando collegare i tuoi distorti diretti nel ingresso MAIN ampli ed il Boss Gt10 nel send - return.

Posso dirti che uso un casino di delay, un po di reverbero e pick up del ponte.. ah e compressore... e mi esce questo suono.. Di solito low - mid - high li tengo sempre a metà.. Questo è quanto sono esperto... provi a fare come ho detto e vedi se funziona. :)

@magicmichele2 Ciao Michele grazie dei complimenti. :) Dunque.. non ho mai usato un Boss Gt10 e sicuramente i settaggi saranno diversi dal Boss GT 6 che uso io. Che tipo di tono cerchi? intendo epoca. (gilmour anni 70' o Pulse ?) Con i Boss si raggiungono abbastanza bene i toni puliti. Appena vai su i distorsioni.. bleah! Infatti in tutte le canzoni che ho messo non pensare che ho usato solo il Boss GT6 da solo. Tutto è migliorato dopo che effetti VST con Ableton live.
