However, if we take the title as it is, it pretty clearly states that the bus is the hostage [= the bus has been commandeered], and the objective is to neutralize [= destroy].

@snaip That makes no sense, you do not take a bus hostage, the entire purpose of taking something hostage is to use it as leverage or as a bargaining piece, that's not what this is. If I go break into my neighbours car I'm not taking it hostage, I'm stealing it, that's what this is. The use of the term hostage implies that there is something that the police would not want to harm in the process, therefore the title makes no sense. I presume the owner isn't English.
