Nice new Aberdeen Center, where is the old one now? I was study in Vancouver in the early 90's, so I had visited the old one with lot of memories there.
@CIAArmedUSP i second that! it seems korea is under-promoted in terms of tourism i don't know why! i went to korea & v v impressed with that country but it seems not v many ppl esp here in the western world know about it! mike shld be the ambassador for korea! i mean it!
@michaelarnold13 I took a vacation there. I flew into Seattle. Drive up. Loved the city. Seen that steam clock and all. Yes, I travel as much as I can when ever possible. =)
If you get a chance, you should take a video of the inside of Parker Place. In fact, all along No 3 Rd is the whole Chinatown. Personally, I refer to the place more as "Hong Kong Town" because much of it was built by the Hong Kong population boom in the 1990s. Nowadays, there's more mainland Chinese moving to the area.
Thank you very much again for showing us. I've always wanted to see Chinatown in Vancouver. So, basically it's a shopping mall :) This video made my day !
@michaelarnold13 Yes, I did see the previous old Chinatown you uploaded. I have to say It wouldn't be Chinatown without the typical smell (not that I don't like) it's kinda funny that I've never thought of google or searching on Youtube about Chinatown in Vancouver. I guess I was waiting for your video ^^
I read that the same company that owns the center also owns some Chinese Radio and or TV Stations in Canada, suddenly I saw a room with reflective glass and bright lights inside and there she was
many Chinese settled in Vancouver at the turn of the century, my grandfather told me many were traveling through North America on their way to work Labor for the 1st World War,I think there are many factors of the larget Asian population in Metro vancouver
reminds me of the pacific mall in toronto except that pacific mall was way busier/crowded....the shopping there was insane...all kinds of stores..almost felt like i was in hong kong..the food was blah...but the atmosphere & the uniqueness of the mall compared to the standard malls in toronto was something!

Koreans have to step up their game. Lets make a better koreatown in Vancouver.
CIAArmedUSP 9 months ago
there are a lot of Koreans living in Coquitlam (a subrurb of Vancouver)
Vancouver is very diverse, people tend to blend in and dont need to group off

i just did a search on Parker AT .ask.com/wiki/ Parker_Place i did see a number of Asian malls along # 3 road and yes that whole area is Chinese
The guy I spoke to at the Lamborgini store said there are many Mainland Chinese here with money now as oposed to just the Hong Kong people before
all interesting local history and new Vancouver culture, its great living in a multicultural city with very good racial tolerance

I hope the development is more into "Chinatowns" as opposed to China-malls. We have two major ones here in NYC.
TheFaustianMan 10 months ago
out in Richmond there are loads of China Malls
Im sad that whats left of the orginal old settlment is decaying and shrinking
michaelarnold13 10 months ago
Wow, there is indeed a lot of money there. $440,000 for a car! It's amazing they actually sell any. Another great tour, Michael. Thanks for sharing!
