  • does this make the game playable ? because the game play was shity!

  • Remove the gun and put the projector further to the back of the gun to make the image bigger and il buy it.

  • Now all I need is an empty, spherical blank white room to play it in.

  • Why not just use some sort of hmd with the gun?? This way is a cheaper one to make?

The hmd would be better. And also more immersive, because with the gun in this way, you see the gun in real life, but also see in the game, so this make the thing a little unrealistic (and so less immersive).

  • Now you just got to hook up the walk forward button on a running machine so we can get fit and play

  • i bet this is a trip

  • forse era meglio se il proiettore fosse stato separato. e quanto ti giravi girava solo l'immagine? così ci vuole una parete enorme!!!

the projector must be separated. only had to turn the view.

  • Do not look into laser with remaining eye.

Going to be a lot of home-blindings with these toys.

  • sweet! Now I can finally feel like I'm fighting a war and have advanced glaucoma!

    (tunnel vision)

  • but , what you must do if you look back(ward)

  • you should consider a tube like room to play in

  • i want one :D

  • I WAS THERE BEHIND THE CAMERA GUY

  • Is Microvision the maker of this technology? Do they have stock?

  • what if the enemy appears at your backside?

  • the future!

  • invert Y axis anyone? LOL, I WANT!!!!

  • cool idea !

  • I FUCKING WANT ONE!

That looks pretty sweet, im guessing its a wireless projector device with some controls on the model.

Fuck that looks epic, minus needing to have a room with nothing in it to play :D

  • I am Heavy Gamer Guy...

    And this, is my controller

  • F2000 FTW.

  • hmm total gelangweilt wer will mit mir schreiben hab auch bilder von mir

  • ah ok.

  • What did he say?

  • I don't remember specifically, and I deleted my comment by mistake. I think he said something about his dad, and he was bragging about something that cannot be proven without pics. So I told that fucker, "pics or get the fuck out!" He probably, or preferably committed suicide after my comment.

  • You're part of the Illuminati? Pics or GTFO! LOL!

  • @Spectralancer

I'm just joking around about being part of the illuminati, I choose to parody those lunatics who believe in them. The guy I was messaging was serious, so I asked for pics. Have you read my channel comments, lol?

  • I know, lol.

  • Man! if only this could interact with your own body motions i.e. running, jogging, climbing obstacles, whilst under enemy fire FFS! I want this to happen, fuck the hd 3d tv's I want this instead.....

  • How does he walk?

  • probably a analog stick on the gun

  • Actually, I think he's using an accelerometer mounted on the gun. Pointing down makes you run forward and pointing up runs backward. I may be wrong, but that's the observation I got.

  • @PacoBell you just got an analogstick on the left of the weapon.

i tested it at the CeBit

at the moment it's not so good, but it's alpha phase.

  • Ok that is cool but what is the use of having a gun in your hands and one on screen? doesn't that contradicts what they are trying to do?

Anyways, it does look pretty promising.

    Cheers.

  • Yeah, they need to mod the game to get rid of that portion of the screen. Then again, the occlusion from the gun is supposed to be a competitive game element, so removing it may be construed as "cheating".

  • WOW NICE

  • damn that thing is f*cking awesome!!!

  • i watched the vid again and its not just a projection on the wall the whole fucking game is in like 3d. fucking crazy

when you turn u actually turn in the game CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh shit!!!!!!!!!!!

this is so much better than the shit we are playing now. fuck xbox360 i want this am i right?

  • @chan0chap

    Enlist.

  • This is brilliant, very exciting... a clear sign of things to come!

  • why is everyone complaining? at least theyre trying to make something new.

  • NICE muito lokoo ;D

  • If they could perfect things such as zooming in this could be really fucking sweet!

  • why does he need the gun on screen if hes holding one? shouldnt it just be a crosshair, or better yet just the guns iron sights to be more realistic?

  • well they didnt make an entirely new game just for this prototype demo, and theyre wouldnt be any custom settings for this either of course. they just modified a pc controller, like a game pad, or mouse/keyboard onto a gun that projects the screen. just keep in mind that this inst anything well see in a while

  • not to offend your comment but the game is operation flashpoint 2

  • God has finally Invented IT!

  • а ну признавайтесь, у кого есть дома круглая белая комната?

фигня девайся. ни как не повернуться на 180 градсуов

  • how is he supposed to do a 360° turn?

  • I suppose you could have a circle room. Then it'd work fine.

  • yeah but who has? you would probably have to build your own or just take a laaaaarge piece of paper and make a tube and turn it with the opening to the bottom. but how would you get inside then?

  • Or you increase the turning sensitivity such that 360° maps to 180°.

  • imagine it with cs)))lol

  • Igromania рулит )))

  • С игромании)))

  • я с PlayGround.

  • я с игромании ))))

  • Приконая хрень, вапрос на вапрос угудай с трёх раз? :)

  • Кто тут с Игромании?

  • Operation Flashpoint 2 FTW

  • dude you need a dome to play that in XD

  • yesssssssss

  • would be cool to have "rumble" technology - the person in the demo didn't seem that engaged, more dead really, would be nice to at least see the gamer's gun shaking just like in the video

  • In addition to a rumble module, it'd be nice for the gun to have a beefy linear actuator to simulate the kick.

  • nice toy for keyboard warriors XD

  • looks promising .. doesn't seem very practical tho

  • Just don't get shot by the cops showing it around m'kay guys?

  • People are losing sight of the fact that this is a tech demo to show how a pico projector (laser-based like Microvision's so that it's always in focus) can be combine with motion sensors to create a new, more natural and immersive interface and experience!

Some developer may take this to "arcades" and make a 360 degree environment to play in. Someone else may use it as a game console peripheral for a new hunting game. Maybe another allows the use of multiple peripherals simultaneously! Imagine.

  • Looks kool.

  • It would be cool if you had to run in place to sprint in game. It would be freaking awesome if it reloads would take the same time it takes you to actually reload it. I hate games were it takes you two seconds to duck or crouch and then it takes another two seconds to get up and run. It doesn't make for realistic games and slows down the pace.

If this system would cost $1k or less with a 360 projection screen, I'd buy it.

  • Fast reloads do not slow down the pace; that doesn't make sense. But yes, they are unrealistic. Instead of running in place, there could be a sphere to run on inside of a larger sphere for projection.

  • No, slow reloads are unrealistic. What I meant was:

A reload in a game should be programmed to match the time it takes you to remove mag from this system, touch to your hip, and re-insertion.

  • It takes longer to reload IRL than in games. Much longer.

  • Absolutely NO reason to still be able to see the gun and you hand on the screen. You have your "real" ones for that.

  • How about just attached a light weight screen to the end of a light weight rod that is attached to the end of the gun with counter balance? Wall space and 180 turn around problem fixed. Tadda!

  • Good idea.

  • You could just hang white curtains in a Square

  • You need to have a room formed as a circle or something, to play like this.

And how does he move, some buttons on the gun, or?

  • i was wondering, how would you do a 180 turn around with this thing ?

  • You would turn around

  • but that is stupid, we're not living in boxes or something, there probably would be a door or a window

  • Use a custom room without windows and visible door frame.

  • @majdijr touchee. Then a button press

  • epic fail

  • That really doesnt empress me much...

  • at least they're trying to do something new here

  • what game is that he's playing??

  • i think its operation flashpoint 2

  • I found this concept with iR very, very nice... Would love to have this setup. It looks fantastic...

It would be cool to have a scope to show the zoomed picture from the game, so that when you will do sniping, you look in the "scope" on the gun and it shows the sniper view from the game, and it follows your movements? (In the scope there would be a small LCD-screen.) I think it is a cool idea.

  • At the same time, the original standard view should be shown on the projector screen to add reality. :)

  • The scope lcd will show sniper view all the time, and when you take your eye from the scope you see the projected image again which always is displayed, too.

  • That'd be awesome for Silent Scope

  • and:you will need a big wall, a projector,darkness,.....nice try.

  • so... how do you turn around 180 degrees

  • I guess it's like in the iR controls in flight sims/car racing-sims, if you turn your head 30-40 degrees with the ir, it will make the game turn many more degrees. I find this concept very interesting. (If you walk and turn, I guess it will be 360 degrees, still?

  • agree, i am surprise no one is finding this to be breathtaking....

  • Very cool! How difficult would it be to add a polarization rotator for passive stereo 3d with one projector?
