Why not just use some sort of hmd with the gun?? This way is a cheaper one to make?
The hmd would be better. And also more immersive, because with the gun in this way, you see the gun in real life, but also see in the game, so this make the thing a little unrealistic (and so less immersive).
I don't remember specifically, and I deleted my comment by mistake. I think he said something about his dad, and he was bragging about something that cannot be proven without pics. So I told that fucker, "pics or get the fuck out!" He probably, or preferably committed suicide after my comment.
I'm just joking around about being part of the illuminati, I choose to parody those lunatics who believe in them. The guy I was messaging was serious, so I asked for pics. Have you read my channel comments, lol?
Man! if only this could interact with your own body motions i.e. running, jogging, climbing obstacles, whilst under enemy fire FFS! I want this to happen, fuck the hd 3d tv's I want this instead.....
Actually, I think he's using an accelerometer mounted on the gun. Pointing down makes you run forward and pointing up runs backward. I may be wrong, but that's the observation I got.
Yeah, they need to mod the game to get rid of that portion of the screen. Then again, the occlusion from the gun is supposed to be a competitive game element, so removing it may be construed as "cheating".
well they didnt make an entirely new game just for this prototype demo, and theyre wouldnt be any custom settings for this either of course. they just modified a pc controller, like a game pad, or mouse/keyboard onto a gun that projects the screen. just keep in mind that this inst anything well see in a while
yeah but who has? you would probably have to build your own or just take a laaaaarge piece of paper and make a tube and turn it with the opening to the bottom. but how would you get inside then?
would be cool to have "rumble" technology - the person in the demo didn't seem that engaged, more dead really, would be nice to at least see the gamer's gun shaking just like in the video
People are losing sight of the fact that this is a tech demo to show how a pico projector (laser-based like Microvision's so that it's always in focus) can be combine with motion sensors to create a new, more natural and immersive interface and experience!
Some developer may take this to "arcades" and make a 360 degree environment to play in. Someone else may use it as a game console peripheral for a new hunting game. Maybe another allows the use of multiple peripherals simultaneously! Imagine.
It would be cool if you had to run in place to sprint in game. It would be freaking awesome if it reloads would take the same time it takes you to actually reload it. I hate games were it takes you two seconds to duck or crouch and then it takes another two seconds to get up and run. It doesn't make for realistic games and slows down the pace.
If this system would cost $1k or less with a 360 projection screen, I'd buy it.
Fast reloads do not slow down the pace; that doesn't make sense. But yes, they are unrealistic. Instead of running in place, there could be a sphere to run on inside of a larger sphere for projection.
How about just attached a light weight screen to the end of a light weight rod that is attached to the end of the gun with counter balance? Wall space and 180 turn around problem fixed. Tadda!
I found this concept with iR very, very nice... Would love to have this setup. It looks fantastic...
It would be cool to have a scope to show the zoomed picture from the game, so that when you will do sniping, you look in the "scope" on the gun and it shows the sniper view from the game, and it follows your movements? (In the scope there would be a small LCD-screen.) I think it is a cool idea.
The scope lcd will show sniper view all the time, and when you take your eye from the scope you see the projected image again which always is displayed, too.
I guess it's like in the iR controls in flight sims/car racing-sims, if you turn your head 30-40 degrees with the ir, it will make the game turn many more degrees. I find this concept very interesting. (If you walk and turn, I guess it will be 360 degrees, still?

Spectralancer 2 years ago
No, slow reloads are unrealistic. What I meant was:
A reload in a game should be programmed to match the time it takes you to remove mag from this system, touch to your hip, and re-insertion.
m9mentor 2 years ago
It takes longer to reload IRL than in games. Much longer.
Spectralancer 2 years ago
Absolutely NO reason to still be able to see the gun and you hand on the screen. You have your "real" ones for that.
