It's not as good as the Gatting ball. Warne bowled Gatt on a good pitch whereas Strauss got bowled on a pitch that was breaking up. Look at the dust that comes up when that ball pitches. Bowling into the rough can give great spin but is unpredictable. Warne getting Gatting was all about Warne and his skill, and not attributable to bowling in the rough.

It's not as good as the Gatting ball. Warne bowled Gatt on a good pitch whereas Strauss got bowled on a pitch that was breaking up. Look at the dust that comes up when that ball pitches. Bowling into the rough can give great spin but is unpredictable. Warne getting Gatting was all about Warne and his skill, and not attributable to bowling in the rough.

Absolutely. The only thing 'better' about this ball was that it turned more. The Gatting ball had everything a legspinner aims for, lovely flight, drift sharp turn. If there could be such a thing, it would be deem the model leg break. I think his one to Chanderpaul was better than this one anyway.
