but for the record, I seen WAY more subs blown with underpower. clipping = death.

ok under powering a sub is bad over powering a sub to much is bad this sub requires 1000w rms with NO bass boost of any kind bass boost is just distortion this sub also requires a sealed enclosure of .05 to 1.0 volume and requires an amp with a sub sonic filter that will cut off the lows under 25hz if you dont meet theese requirements your sub will blow

i bought one of these for 114+shipping on ebay, instead of 300 on amazon. it was brand new. im very happy with it. mine is under powered too, im running 1200 watts into it. i was gonna buy a 4000 watt amp but it sounded like garbage

@loupcool666 You're actually quite wrong... An underpowered subwoofer ( i.e too weak an amplifier) can be driven to pull more power than the amplifier can handle. When an amplifier is driven too far it will temporarily give a DC voltage instead of AC, and that is how you FRY a sub.

@TheMickyd70 It's very difficult to blow a subwoofer by under-powering it...almost impossible, Not even current going through to the voice coil wouldn't hurt. The only bad thing about this is that the amplifier is trying so hard to give out so much power that it can't handle, which causes it to overheat. And could blow your amplifier.
