I've been wondering though.. can't you get 100 coins in the final bowser fight? I mean liek you collect the coins in the stage and then after you fighting against bowser , just let him breath out his fire breath and eventually some of the fire will turn into coins.. will you get another star by just collecting coins while fighting boswer? :D

people... look at the stars: there 122. You can only get 120 of them... at least without cheating
