I loved them then, I love them now. What makes them so amazing and well loved is that people know where they've come from. They still hold on to their roots, but they've grown.
Their present isn't "better" than their past, it's just an evolving sound that they're perfecting to represent who they are at the given moment, which makes for great music.
I prefer their first two albums alot, to their new stuff, but I'm sure very pop culture people would disagree.I think song's like Spider web's are way too commercial, and not really even that good at all. These are the song's that make them awesome!!!
Best concert ever! I was in the pit. I think I still have the ticket stub somewhere. Too bad the cameraman was so close to the horns. Guttermouth and Sublime also kicked ass! When Guttermouth came on - the pit went insane.
I am counting the days for No Doubt to get back together again. However, I'm afraid, they won't be the same again now that Gwen prefers the bubble gum, prefabricated music. I hope the don't do another Rock Steady- sounding album. Come on No Doubt, prove me wrong!! Do something great!! How about returning to your original roots, please!!
There's a guy in the audience filing the same performance and it's on youtube with better sound. Do a search for "Board in OC"...or "Trapped in a cube". Yes 'cube'...I know not why...
yeah, there was an interview with gwen about the band, it was something like this, "yeah I've been thinking about doing something with the band, and now it's all I think about,..."blah blah.
This brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of when I first heard ND on my way to my grandma's. I was six years old, and WDRE played Trapped In A Box and Spiderwebs back to back to promote the release of Tragic Kingdom. I went nuts! Now, I'm almost 20 and still a loyal fan of that crazy awesome band known as No Doubt.
Classic!!

Was this taped at a Vans Warped tour concert?
JustAGirlInMontrea 4 years ago
No, this isn't from the Warped Tour, although No Doubt did play a couple of West Coast dates on the first year of the Warped Tour in '95.
I'm not positive, but it could be Kevin Lyman sitting on the rail in the back.
I'm pretty sure the Board in the O.C. show was the inspiration for the Warped Tour though.
boardboysf 4 years ago
Yes, this was the inspiration for Warped.
