Anyone who thinks the Dixie Chicks weren't on their way before Maines and Sony fucked them up has to simply listen to this song. This is the voice they used to back up Fat Nat. The mistake these sisters made was to not have tryouts for a new lead singer (Like they needed one). Unfortunately, in support of Maines, both sisters said things that would prevent any significant support in C&W. Marty sings this one. I was a big fan of theirs when they played the DFW area before they made it big. This was great live because I think Marty (the violinist) was a little nervous singing the lead and this added a really sweet vulnerability to her performance...she sounded like an angel the one time I saw them perform this live. I prefer the pre Natalie, pre -superstar DC with Robin Lynn Macey and Laura Lynch, both sublimely talented and beautiful women.

When there 1# song died, they tried to give the Red Cross a Million Dollars, why would they try and support the War after what they said to the President.
Here's what happened they saw 10's of Millions of Dollars slipping away and said look we better find away to stop this, what if we give 1 percent of what we earned towards the war, guess what it did not work. Hello day Job!

She's an ignorant, bashing, disingjenuous woman who made a Pandering off-hand remark on a subject that many millions were having to take seriously. When she was called on it, she and the others spent millions to convince dumbdowns like you that she was a victim of some kind. Well, she was. Of her own mouth, but of nothing else. GW wasn't buying their music, millions who were pissed at her were. No more. Especially when she decided to start bashing them. She's gone for good reason.
