  • @wmw0702 hi. I read in email what you had suggested. Keep in mind, for a full 5 string strum, including the high E string, one has to keep the pinky on the 3rd fret E string to maintain the harmonic structure of the chord.

If I was just doing an inside chord, I would do it your way for sure!

    : )

  • @GuitarGare thanks for that. that's why i removed my comment right away upon realizing my mistake. i made that comment after just watching the first part of the clip. but when i watched it thru, i realized my mistake and removed my comment immediately. i don't have a clue how you were still able to read it...

  • @wmw0702 ah- like Facebook, Youtube sends this to email notification first, before any elapsed time has passed for anyone to reconsider personal editing after clicking "post".

    : )

  • That is a very cool guitar you have there my friend.

  • @CleverNameHere81 Thank you very much. It is the former property of one Scott Merritt, quasi- famous Canadian music hero/producer/artist unit.

  • That's a bit tough, but it's nothing compared to Shawn Lane's Fmaj9

    e| 0

    B| 6

    G|12

    D|10

    A| 8

    E| 5

  • @eklundhisgod and then he quickly changes to ....what? lol.

thanks for the contribution. I would really like to see it on video .

  • @GuitarGare Yeah it's true that he never used it in a practical sense, but it's definitely doable. Lot's of people on youtube have attempted it. The trick is you have to barre your index finger on an angle so it hits the A on the E string and the F on the B string. Other than that, it's just a little stretch.

  • it's hard but it's got a lot of character , i never plAY it with the low g though, i'm just a hack , your way sounds great

  • @KennyKenMasters

Depending on the size of your hands-with this one, your hands being Much larger can actually work against you with this one- and/or the space between your fingers, there is a price to pay here...keep in mind this guitar is a 3/4 size 1960 duo sonic, the neck of which is quite unique, so it was easier for me.

But whodathunkit. Just a Cmin chord? seriously...

  • Brutal chord! Definitely worth working on though, as it's a great voicing and could mix beautifully into an open chord progression (it moves A- and D quite nicely)

  • Hey Gare. You know, I used this chord when I first played Eva Cassidy's version of Somewhere over the Rainbow. It is a tough chord to get comfortable with, but it does sound mighty nice. Beautiful guitar too

    Thanks for this

  • Yikes. What a can of worms huh? Great job Gare!

  • ....ouchy owey, I thinks I'll stick with the easy way.

Tanks for the free lesson Mugs...

    More videos please.

  • so, am I to assume that you tried playing this one? Big Evil Grin...

  • ouch, severe angle is right. Great videos Gare, keep it up!
