marvellous indeed. I had the priviledge to listen to these maestro when I was a kid. Pt. Mahadeo Prasad Mishra, Vocalist used to teach my brother and sisters. He was a genious too and expert not only in vocal music but also tabla, sitar, sarangi and what no...Anokhe lal ji can just not be compaed with anyone now. Now we find only posers and not actual players... Banaras gharana produced geniouses in every music field but now it has shrunk with time. May Kashi Vishwanath bless the new generation
one of the best tabla player.I am hearing first time na dhin dhin na from the magician tabla maestro.I have no words to comment on this video. Thank You Pathak ji for this loving video.I prey to Maa Durga that all things that you want u can get very easily in your life, because all happyness is in one side and the na dhin dhin na is in one side.
how can i forget...Banaras is my birth place...I am a scientist but a connoiseur of classical music...hope some light is still kindling in some corner of Banaras...I am still hopeful...may listen to superb artists in future in banaras...
ramji beingthank you brothers for posting this god of a man playing tabla so super sonic speed with such clarity is beyond me .anokelal son ramji gurujee wasnt too far from his farther.my name stephen, ramji guru only western student 25years together but really 8years lessons, ramji sadly was losing it,god knows how i miss him so ,now in san diego , na dhin dhin na for ever stephen
no words 2 describe such a playing... History will always remember PT ji as a simple, decent, humble, knowledgble man, as he was the king of na dhin dhin na, dhire dhire.. Totall surrenderence and becomming 1 with tabla it`self!!
Thank you for this. There should be a Masters Section on Youtube to seperate the all time greats like Anokhe Lal Misra & others. Most of todays Tabla students have never heard of these greats. I had the pleasure of the company of a disciple of Anokhe's called Mahapurush Misra (a great player himself ) when i stayed in Calcutta in the early 80's , he was elegant & refined both as a person and in his Tabla, another who was taked too early in life. Anokhe a master of clarity & a mlestone in Tabla.

Has any other tabla player in recorded history been able to duplicate this rendition of Na Dhin Dhin na?
My feeling is that no one, at least no tabla player presently alive has been able to duplicate this level of playing the theka.
Comments welcome.
