Any body else think it odd that Albert's father and uncle did the exact same thing that he did?
Queen Mary was originally "said" to be engaged to George's Brother, Prince Albert Victor. Then 2 months before the wedding he "dies" and George marries his fiance. The only problem with all that is there are quotations of Mary in books stating that she knew from a child that she was going to marry George. It had been all arranged.
The Queen Mother was devoted to her Bertie to the end. This is a most respectful documentary on a great couple who were thrust into a life style they were not prepared for nor did they particularly want. The music background was perfect for this couple. I really enjoyed it.
This is one of the reasons I believe in G-d, & understand that calamities are sent for a reason. The Abdication was horrendous - at the time, who could tell how much better things were going to be? A model king, equally fitting consort, and less strictures on a future generation that would, sadly, need every ounce of forbearance (it's a sometimes-ugly world we live in, & yet so much demanded of the royals!)
Ok...at 0:48 the Bertie looks JUST like Harry Connick, Jr.

The photo you show just before the text bridge, looks more like the Duke of Kent, the younger brother of King George VI, rahter than His Majesty.

@Mavrilon Yes, that's definitely the Duke of Kent.

Great video. But just in case you didn't know, the portrait at 45 seconds is the Duke of Kent, not King George.
