@AMTRAKAEM7FAN1991 Because no one else mass produces passenger locomotives in the United States anymore. Motive Power, Inc. (a.k.a. Wabtec) have a monopoly.
there's a story on how the MBTA got the 2 new MP36PH-3C.UTA in Utah order 12 0f
MP36PH-3C.they only needed 10 of them for the commuter rail service. when they found out that the MBTA was going to buy 20 of them. UTA sold them the last 2 of them for $7 milloon. that's $ 3.5 each they were number # 011 .and # 12.the MBTA renumber them # 010 & # 011.
I said this before in another video, but the number boards are completely designed wrong. The LED sign should display the train number instead of the loco, since you can change it. Most obvious thing though is the 0 preceding the loco number. Seriously that has no place there.
Great catch Matt. Those MP36s are really cool.:) I'm pretty surprised that this one has ditchlights that flash at the normal speed rather than the slower speed like every other MP36 has.
it looks very bright and clean. Montreal has a similar engine.

Nice. I don't think that T paint looks good on these engines though. The UTA paint looked great on them.

Now you need to get a video of the MARC units, the least eco-friendly!
Chessiecat97 11 months ago
@Chessiecat97 What's the difference between MBTA's and MARC's? They're still MP36s.
murjax 11 months ago
@murjax I was talking about the 4 MARC GP40's that MBTA just got.
