Q for your GF: I can walk into the bar and see whose gay, whose lesbian... but how can I tell a girl is into Trans and NOT taken? I feel dumb as a post with these gender games.
@tat2mune Vancouver is awesome... a great place for artists to work with other artists... Sometimes leaves something to be desired, but it's a beautiful, chill city to live in.
That's the tricky thing with girls like that... you never know ! If they find you, it's meant to be... but you can't really tell how a person is or how a person loves just by looking at them. SOMETIMES but in this case, not so much. I guess the "gay grrrls" that are into butch lesbians would be more inclined...
my bf is trans and i can totally relate to what megan has gone thru. i used to think i was a lesbian but just very attracted to butch type women but now as i am w my bf i am unsure what to even call myself anymore. my bf is a lot less stereotypical male and not saying that in a more or less positive way just the way he is. but i feel like i can still call myself gay even tho i am w him. its all very confusing at times. all that matters to me is we love each other and that we are happy :)
My partner told me about your videos after I had started recommending other's videos while s(he) starts the journey with FtM. You two are a beautiful couple and I've seen all your videos now and am impressed with your bond with one another. I've struggled a little with the "levels" of transition with my partner, but it's couples like you guys that remind me that it's all worth it. :)
Just watching your videos makes me smile like i feel like i know you guys lol i dont know if thats weird or not hahahaa but i do! Like you guys are just soo fun to look at and hear you guys talking about your experience is very interesting to captivate and it makes me want like to watch more sooo keep up your great progress! :)
This may have been asked already, but how long did you find it for people to get use to calling to "him" instead of "her"? I know your girlfriend is not meaning to say it in a "bad" way or anything, but it is something for people to get use to. It's amazing to see you two together
@bbmamma For people close to me who have known me through the process it took about 5 months... some family members still slip once and a while. I have always been patient with those around me though- it's important.
Everyone is very good about it though now esspecially. :) Facial hair reallllly helps haha, love it.
You 2 are so freaking cute. I only got 3 minutes into this and I could see how much you love and respect each other. I hope that you continue on your path together! Good luck! xo
you all are absolutely beautiful together, and not beautiful in the girly physical sense but just you give off hemistry and i am so so happy that you have found the person to be with and also found yourself! best of wishes to the rest of the transition and the rest of life!
That it is possible to be more attracted to "female masculinity" because I myself am a girly girl.
And also after watching this, my view on Transgenders is much more clear now.
I'm not quite sure if I made any sense lol, but long story short. This video sort of helped me figure out who I am. I just wanted to thank you, AND your girlfriend especially! :)
@LushyTV Messages like this make it alllllllllllllll worth it. It makes us so happy to hear that we've helped someone find themselves in this crazy journey that is life. Ever evolving and ever changing... We hope doors like this keep on opening for you. <3 :) Hugggs !
Not quite sure If you'll get to see this since I''m really late.
But this video helped me so much... I'm 16 and I realized I was a lesbian almost a year ago..
Coming out to people wasn't hard, especially because it's a little more accepted in my generation.
But there was a problem... I always found myself attracted to Studs/Dikes or however you may refer to them. Everyone would tell me that I'm not really lesbian, because I'm attracted to Studs... After watching this I sort of realized (CONT...)
Why does everybody want to be a transsexual these days?
It doesn't CHALLENGE traditional gender roles, it REINFORCES them by hewing to an artificially oversimplified gender binary model! Heaven forbid one should just be a fully multi-dimensional person..
God doesn't make mistakes. If you feel you are the "wrong" gender, maybe you should ask WHAT is it you''re supposed to learn by incarnating in this body?
Besides, surgery can NEVER make a REAL man or woman..
I think u two are AWSOME and u look great together!! You seem to have the realationship thing down and thats VERY important. Keep up the good work and I am very happy for u both!!
So, so, so, so fucking inspirational. As someone who struggles to understand my sexuality at times, you make me feel like it'll all work out eventually.
@eilasorjane1154 It will work out! Just listen to yourself, and don't judge yourself or your urges. People need to experience what their soul is telling them to.... Follow your bliss! And thanks for your support! All the best to you. :)
I just came out as trangendered, and I have been with my girlfriend for 3 yrs. She is really supportive. I am currently in therapy to get my letter, and im hoping to get it soon and start taking T. I think its great that you two are great and I hope everything goes smooth with my transition and my gf:)
I really like the term "pansexual" for folks who are attracted to people regardless of biological sex or gender orientation. Thanks for the video. I think a relationship dynamic video is really good to have out there. Talking about the transitions that the relationship goes through was really interesting for me to listen to.
Thanks, this is really gonna help me. my partner is about to start to go though the transition. I am abit nervous and scared of what will happen to us and him. So is there anything I can do to make it easier.
@babyeey Hi ! Probably the best things you could do are... Educate yourself. Know what to expect. Sometimes little things come up that you don't initially expect, though. We hope you and your partner are keeping open and honest with each other - communication is most important. Everyones transition is different, as well as the partners of those transitioning. Keep positive and know that whatever happens, always happens for a reason. :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I love seeing things like this i really do. I am still pretty young but i do feel extremely flexible in my sexuality. As in i love strong women and i love seeing them together but i also love seeing change and acceptance really this video made me feel very good inside. I wish you both the best of luck and i am so happy for you both (Thank you miss meow for sharing your side of the story!!!)
I have been watching your updates for sometime now. I am in the middle of my transition, just getting to a therapist now. So I literally drink up everything you say, it helps me a lot to understand both sides of the proverbial coin here. My partner is a great person and accepts who I am and my transition. I couldn't go through all the emotional turmoil without his support. It's brilliant to see others in my shoes as an FtM. Thanks for the videos and the info you pass along so selflessly.
This was a great video, thanks. I am ftm, pre-everything but waiting for my endo appt. I watched this with my husband, who identifies as a straight male, he was very grateful for the partners perspective. We're staying together through this transition, and it's really great to see other couples transitioning together as well.
@quepidbaby - We kind of went over that in the video. After being together for 6+ years as "lesbians", using female pronouns is to be expected. I am being realistic and understanding that my transition is a transition for everyone in my life and I have patience for them as they get used to my new reality. I do not pressure her or anyone else who may use female pronouns when referring to me - it's a part of my life and evolution. I don't expect to recieve fully male pronouns at this stage anyway
@TheJettHeads I find that helping people by correcting them every time they make the pronoun mistake will help them to correct it. It has to be brought to their /Megan's awareness and will help you, Kale, to claim you're chosen identity. It will also help you Kale to feel proactive as a man in your transition. Wrong pronouns, though not a big deal now, will wear on you no matter how positive you are (I'm very positive
@ThanatosWings but had to ditch some friends because they couldn't transition with me). This is the same as the reverse when people called me a lesbian and butch woman, those things are lies and I feel bad for the people who never bothered to ask my preference. Being called something you're not is never something to be looked over. A little cut repeated every time your get the wrong pronoun turns into a huge wound, this is the same as what happens to your mind,
Also, this video is wayyyy old, and was at a point where EVERYONE in my life was really getting used to my transition. I have no problem with Megan's awareness and her use of pronouns because since the 4.5 Month video, all she uses is male pronouns. In fact, she's better at using them than a lot of people.
@quepidbaby - We kind of went over that in the video. After being together for 6+ years as "lesbians", using female pronouns is to be expected. I am being realistic and understanding that my transition is a transition for everyone in my life and I have patience for them as they get used to my new reality. As a partner of a trans guy I identify with you SO much Megan! Your eloquent words were almost a light bulb moment for me just now! I have been struggling with the loss of my lesbian label over the past few months. Like you, I too have always loved the masculine in the feminine, and thought that only applied to butch/androgynous woman for me. Thank you for helping me realize that that doesn't change, it's just tipping more towards one side than the other. Yay to lack of labels!
kay, you've changed a lot. voice is sounding really good. and megan, this was one of the best ftm vids i've seen with a girlfriend's commentary. looking forward to more updates.
Very Amazing, love the voice change., lol.. so if you can't do the high pitches any more can you do "machine gun" sounds now? seems like boys are always way better at that.. lol.. .thanx for sharing :)
So glad I found your video :) I'm a partner of a FTM - and I've found it so hard to get any sort of advice from that side of the transition. It's nice to feel like I'm not alone in my feelings - thank you for sharing Meow!! Could you recommend anywhere to get more assistance or somewhere to talk about things from a partners perspective? My man is jackjackshift on this here youtube :) I was thinking of setting up a questions area on youtube.. thoughts?? Thanks again! Go the Canadians :D
@MzCazatron - Hi ! I'm so glad our video helped you out. It's so very true that there are not enough helpful resources out there for the partners of those transitioning... But I guess that's what this here YouTube is for.
Like I said in the video - if I recieve enough questions, I'll do up another GrrrLfriend Edition.
So ask away ! You might wanna think about YouTubing your personal GrrrLfriend experience, yourself. Everybody's stories are different, the more resources out there, the better
@TheJettHeads so so true!! More resources = more awesome!! My boy and I are looking at doing a duo video like your fine selfs for his next video. I think its important to try and get advice and know your not alone in thinking the way you do as a transperson and for their partners! Questions - oh do i have some!! Let me work out how to get the video thing working on my laptop (technology and me tend to not get along) and I'll hit you up with some questions :)
@MzCazatron I myself am trans and my girlfriend has been looking up sources that can help her out and I found this youtube channel and thought maybe you'd find it useful.
Just search TmatesFTM and it should be the first thing that pops up... hope it helps!
I absolutely love this video. I know exactly how you feel about your lesbian pride and having to uphold it towards others. I use to feel the exact same way. I've even had some friends say.."but your a strong proud lesbian". ha.. Labels can be bogus. I love your "labelless" label. I wish others could be this way. BTW... Vancouver rocks!! I use to live in Seattle and frequently partied in Van. (long time ago). One more thing... Your hair is amazing. Both of you. Continue being great. =))
What an awesome comment! Thanks for all the compliments yo! :D
Yeah fuck labels! I don't even have a gender or a sexuality now... aha.
Who needs that shit, everyone just needs to be themselves...
We are all just human that's the main thing right? That's everyone's only REAL label... human. ;)
To label yourself is basically to plateau your evolution and close your mind to other things, changes or experiences you could and would otherwise go through.. rude to do to yourself, lol
I'm sooo proud of you both! Even though I only know you through that " small town " place I have always been fascinated by your honesty and love for each other. I hope that all the things do from this moment on helps others, ( straight, gay, or just not sure ) and you break down some walls. I just knew you two were going places, and you are well on your way. Stay solid.
After watching this video, it certainly helps me understand what you two are going through. I've had two co-workers now go from male to female, and so many questions come up that I have felt too awkward or embarrassed to ask. I am happy with my sexuality and who am I, but thinking about it as a luxury is something that I have never considered.
I am happy to hear that your transition is going well, and want to say welcome to the man team! And the urge to hit people on the sidewalk is mutual!
Your girlfriend has incredible eyes. Couldn't help but notice she still uses feminine pronouns towards you, was this a slip or part of your androgynous past? Oh and know what you mean about losing your funny voices. Any time I imitate anyone my voice either loud squeaks or disappears entirely!
Well like we said, the male pronoun is taking over more- but I still do get both. And we have been together for 6 years so it's a slow process weeding out all the female pronouns.
I don't mind still, cause I am androgynous, but do prefer male.
Takes time to change your vocabulary! hah.
Meow says thanks very much for the compliment! ^__^ (and I agree)
You both are so beautiful !

Shes needs to get use to using male pronouns when shes talking about u. I noticed she kept using female pronouns.
quepidbaby 5 months ago 3

ThanatosWings 2 months ago
@ThanatosWings but had to ditch some friends because they couldn't transition with me). This is the same as the reverse when people called me a lesbian and butch woman, those things are lies and I feel bad for the people who never bothered to ask my preference. Being called something you're not is never something to be looked over. A little cut repeated every time your get the wrong pronoun turns into a huge wound, this is the same as what happens to your mind,
ThanatosWings 2 months ago
@ThanatosWings if you can follow my analogy. Maybe start Meg a "wrong pronoun jar" like a "swear jar" where she has to put a quarter in every time.
-Hope this helps :)
ThanatosWings 2 months ago
@ThanatosWings - Hey. Just to clarify, the name is K.
Also, this video is wayyyy old, and was at a point where EVERYONE in my life was really getting used to my transition. I have no problem with Megan's awareness and her use of pronouns because since the 4.5 Month video, all she uses is male pronouns. In fact, she's better at using them than a lot of people.
Thanks for your input thought. :)

Thank you! x

kay, you've changed a lot. voice is sounding really good. and megan, this was one of the best ftm vids i've seen with a girlfriend's commentary. looking forward to more updates.

TheJettHeads 5 months ago

@MrReyRey66

Stay solid.
Iona.
iXtoastedjelly 6 months ago

DeclanIsHere 6 months ago
@DeclanIsHere
