  • Make that around 30bhp less.

  • Considering the fact that the FD2 has rear seats, glass windows, AC and over 30bhp you would think there might have been more of a gap. The increased wheel base seems to make the FD2 quicker in the faster corners too:) + sticking a SC or a Turbo on a Honda would be a travesty. :-P

  • Muggen RR / JCW GP / R26R wouldbe sick

  • We don't know if the Mégane has the track pack with Toyo R888 in this battle.

  • Civic sounds better, has four doors hence a proper four seat, beautifully engineered engine, will be more reliable compared to french reliability and its more user friendly, its not a hardcore track car like the megane, civic FTW

  • Which do you like better, civic or mini?

  • I'm impressed the fd2 was pretty much the same performance as the r26r as the Hondas n/a and not turbocharged like the Renault imagine how bad it would kick that meganas fat ass of it had a charger stuck on it :)

  • Yes my friends the Renault R26 or the R26R are faster than the Honda type R. And not only faster but above all it's safer and more precise! Long live the Meganes.

  • @antonis626 Actually the fact that the R26R is turbocharged and has track tyres and still had trouble outperforming a the NA Civic Type R on street tyres is very disappointing. All the Type R needs to kick the R28R's butt is a set of the same tyres the Megane is on. It doesn't even need equal horsepower. -_-

  • @antonis626 yes, your friend also sucks cock, no French cars will ever compare to Japanese engineering and quality. thats why it needed a turbo, less doors and race wheels to beat it..

  • If the driver of the Megane drove near as hard as the Civic he would have left it far far behind. You can see the Civic driver is a lot more committed under brakes and in the corners. Typical Japanese test.

  • the driver on the mini sucks.....

  • @mattoschaves You know, the driver on the Mini is Takayuki Kinoshita, 4 times series champion of Super Taikyu, 2 times class winner of 24 hours of Nurburgring, and a class win of 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps. He is a professional racer and an enduro specialist. The only way to make your opinion remotely relevant is if you have a better motorsport career than him, which I highly doubt

  • @snailzgt5 he still sucks. got left way behind

  • @mattoschaves And you blame it on the driver, not the car? Just checking, because you are awfully confident in what you are saying. You must be a way better driver than Kinoshita. Who are you? Nigel Mansell? No wait, Alain Prost? Or could it be Michael Schumacher? Speaking of Schumacher, he got lapped by Vettel several times this season, are you saying that Michael is a "driver that sucks because he got left way behind?" Motor journalists say the Mercedes car was inferior to Red Bull car

  • @snailzgt5 then michael sucks ahahah y you take youtube comments so serious? Ps: i bet i could drive faster than that

  • @mattoschaves Yeah, you could be the first Portuguese F1 driver to actually win a race. Good luck, have fun. You'll be a national hero. No Portuguese won a F1 title, nor won any races. You might be the one and only, and now I suddenly believe you are the best driver!

  • @snailzgt5 ty! i aprecciate your support!

  • if tsuchi had a white (nh0) fd2 he would won...

  • They should use Mugen RR in this race

  • @FN2RRR

agreed man... they should use mugen RR in this race...

  • Megane is an extremely well sorted little hatch.

  • crazy japanese guys.. very funny..

  • Did the R26R wear R888 tyres ? It doesn't seem to be the case.

I am sure that Keiichi at the wheel of the R26R would be even more faster.

Don't forget the R26R is the second fastest FWD car at the Nurb in 8:17.

  • @SuperIppokun i know the R26R wears semi slicks from factory, while the type R wears custom sports road tyres from factory...either way, considering the honda was NA and the renault was turbo, it shows the amazing engineering that went into the civic...

  • @cyz44 Ye but at the same time, Megane is much more comfortable than Type R every day. Also, Megane's engine is probably more durable than Civic's, since its turbocharged, and no tuned to the limit like Civic is. In any case, R26R is a faster car, much faster around very demanding tracks like Nurburgring. And new Megane III RS is even faster, even more comfortable and luxurious. It laps nurburgring in 8:07, on normal tires, not semi-slicks.

  • @derbigpr500 Also, any car thats driven by Tsuchiya is taken to complete limit. Look how hard he's working and still not able to keep up with Megane, even though Megane is driven reatively smoothy. Not agressive at all, driver seems very relaxed and not on edge at all. R26R driven by Tsuchyia at this track could do 1:02-1:03 time.

  • @derbigpr500 haha settle down, i never said the R26R was a bad car in any respects....its a fast little car, the french make quick hot hatch's and have done so since the 80s with great results.. i was just pointing out that the honda showed good speed considering all the disadvantages it had against the renault...
