BTW, the other widely shown camera shot of this play is an endzone handheld camera that also does not show the penalty. It is the most widely shown clip that made the internet rounds and the camera pans all over the place just as Green does his thing. You can just see his feet squaring up as he strikes the pose though. I only saw the network feed clearly showing the thing on Sportscenter a couple of times and then I guess it went into hiding so the controversy could live.

This clip does not show the infraction. There is a view from the endzone network camera that stays on Green and clearly shows the penalty. His teammates, and even one official are trying to keep him from breaking away from the pack of celebrating players and when the guy who has hold of him falls down he immediately does his little statue pose facing the endzone with his arms folded. Other players immediately grab him, but it is right in the face of that official. Busted.

ok wow, this team celebration was a tiny tad excessive, but it was NOTHING unsporting. they were just celebrating NOT rubbing it into any opposing players' faces. rubbing into faces' should be a penalty, but celebrating a successful play that you practiced over and over and over and over again during practice should not be a penalty. goddamn these rules, this isnt fucking kindergarten, if you get scored on you should feel it, and if you do the scoring you should celebrate it.

But they were crashing into the ref repeatedly despite him giving them the wanring to cool it. Good call if unpopular.

The SEC suspended the crew that made this call. It was the same crew that made a horrible personal foul call late in the Arkansas/Florida game that set up the win for Florida. The crew was suspended for at least one scheduled game and certainly won't get any post season assignments.
