As much as I have always enjoyed George's music, I will not be some mindless fan who thinks he can do no wrong. He has a long history of drug abuse, & an english judge found him guilty of imprisoning & beating up a man in his home. The judge based this not only on testimony, but police & hospital pictures of SEVERE bruises & cuts which SHOCKED the judge. How so many fans ignore these facts is just morally wrong. George deserved prison for his crimes & to stop him from hurting himself & others.

Then it went down again when he was arrested in New York for having cocaine in his apt and had to do community service picking up trash. Now, it went down for hopefully the final time for imprisoning a man and beating him up so badly the judge in case said the physical trauma caused was "disturbing". Everybody is capable of a crime in some way,george is human to! I do agree that considerations of georges psychiatric capacities at the time should if anything "mitigate" the panalty (reduce his prison term) Under the criminal code act the judge could of been a lot more harsh on george. He has no history of violent crimes so I don't know why the sentence wasn't suspended? Lets hope he sails through with all our support!

To be honest you can stab a person, rape a woman and still not get a prison sentence the length that George has been given. This sentence seems to be out of proportion to what was actually done. The court of appeal today , The Guardian Friday 12 October 2007 reported, doubled "unduly lenient" two-year prison sentences imposed on two paedophiles in separate cases for the rape of young girls. A window cleaner, was sentenced at crown court by a Judge to serve concurrent two-year and 18-month jail sentences. He had pleaded guilty to two charges of rape after attacking a 10-year-old girl in a park. These sentences appear unduly lenient to me compared with that handed out to Boy George.
