I think it is nice when they have the normal music for hurricanes. While I like the Storm Alert music, when you watch the Weather Channel ongoing for several hours, it gets a little boring listening to the same song.
mine's on ch.18(SD with local forecast in standard definition) and 718(High definition version of the weather channel no local forecast on the weather channel in High def just a satellite forecast in the weather channel high definition) in New Orleans,LA
Is it just me, or has Mr. Intellistar's voice changed over the years? In these 2004 clips, it sounds very bassy, like a radio DJ's voice, but it starts to mellow out a bit.
Another storm I wont forget. We just got hit by frances. 4 days later our power finally came back, only to see the track of Ivan coming right at us. Luckily (for me, of course), it veered further west than where I was located.
This is so surreal(sp?). Here you have a monster storm coming down your throat which could flatten your whole life and TWC plays music like THAT in their local forecast. Maybe they should have played Darth Vader's theme from Star Wars.
Hurricane Ivan was a nasty hurricane. I live in Pittsburgh and even we got about 8 inches of rain from Ivan. I think Ivan was still a minimal tropical storm when it passed just east of here. After passing just east of here it went back out into the Atlantic and eventually became a hurricane again and hit the U.S. a second time as a minimal hurricane I think. One impressive storm.
Yeah it went back out into the atlantic again but it never made it back to hurricane status only tropical storm status...thats still impressive though!!
