If you listen carefully, you can hear the Ultima spinning the tires almost the entire way down the strip. The driver was very experienced on the road course, but hadn't much time at the drags. It just goes to prove that it is most often the skill of a driver rather than the car that determines the outcome of any kind of race. The Ultima should have been MUCH faster than the Cobra.
Good response. I suppose a car set up for the road is not necessarily fast on the strip either as you need softer rear suspension and less air in the rear tyres etc. etc.
Justgonnastay is correct. the GTR lights the board faster. But even though i would like the ultima gtr to win...... When 2 cars hit the sensors that close. A lot of the times the sensors delay eachother on which board reacts 1st. I only learned this through persoanl experience. =(
that Ultima has 1000hp. If you saw the speed I think he was over 130 something, with no traction, which is why he had bad times. Obviously high powered Ultima's dont do so great at the strip.
9.94 is the record 1/4 mile run by an Ultima using the top of the line 800bhp approved engine. There are Ultimas out there with 1500bhps engines. Check out Ron Nelson Racing Engine's blue Ultima GTR.
For what it is, it is stilla ford and Chevy comp.They are both basically British cars one has a Ford Engine the other has a Chevy engine.Go Figure LOL.
