There's too many people making a bigger deal out of this than need be.  Sure it looks tricky, but there isn't a commercial jet pilot out there that couldn't make this landing. They've all received the proper training and are operating aircraft with incredible power and sensitivity.

Oh. OK. I thought he did it on purpose to slow himself down (sideslip) and shorten the landing. I'm no pilot but have heard of other pilots doing such things on occasion but usually not so close to the ground, unless it's in a B52, which is built to land crooked when needed.

the approach wasn't that bad. and it is approved to land on the threshold, but it isn't suggested. he was a bit low, but it happens. also, i agree with the other people in saying that the conditions could have been very difficult to make a perfect app/lnd in.

ok... that landing was far too low..... proof is that the zebra crossing on the runway called the threshold is designed to show the pilot not to land until after this point he touches down b4 it meaning he was too low or he sunk just b4 he hit the runway... now no one can argue with that

To everyone who is complaining about 'oh the pilots are flying too low' and 'terrible pilots' It depends on just what airport you're flying into and the conditions there, how you do an approach and landing. Look at the vids of Hong Kong (Kai Tak) and St. Maarten(Princess Juliana)and you will see what I mean.

I don't believe people should be allowed on that hill. Yeah it's a great view and experience, but the fact the people are so close to the airplanes is of course very dangerous and inexperienced new pilots at that approach (though I hardly believe American would allow inexperienced pilots to fly that approach), could get very nervous by seeing the people there on top of that hill, which is dangerous enough already, and might cause a deadly accident.

I've noticed that that's an American Airlines plane. Ive noticed throughout youtube and TV that most of the plane explosions that occur in the US happen to be those AA jets, and I think that those pilots are horrible in this vid.

This is the airport at Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The landing approach for this airport has many turns in it, and every pilot, not just AA pilots, have to be able to land just like this at this airport, so no, the pilots are not horrible because the landing looks weird to you. Rather, the airport location and aproach pattern are (horrible). See also the landing vids for Kai Tek airport in Hong Kong, and the airport at St. Maartens. Those landing approaches are equally insane.
