  • Cool sound, although would have been even better with whole step down tuning !Pretty good m8!

  • gross tone

  • thats too bad everyone started playing/listening to this song when metallica covered this song.

  • It was okay... pretty good.

  • i love this song

  • I love the sound of your guitar, what amp do you use?

  • no amp. see "my recording method" for details as to how i do my sound.

  • nice^^

  • Thats the riff to Black Sabbaths "A national Acrobat" which inspired the riff for Fade to Black.

  • yes...you play like if you were a robot but it sounds pretty good :D

  • i'll take that as a compliment since robots would be programmed to play it perfectly :p

  • haha yes you play it perfectly :D

  • youre gettin there dude

  • Good job :) Keep on rockin !

  • That's a nice attempt. It doesn't sound as good as the original yet, but then again, I'm not sure I'd do better improvising some parts. Keep practicing, that makes perfect mate. Cheers.

  • I'm the dude that plays the dude...

  • Good job.

  • nice xploror! I have the same one

  • great sabbath song

  • ok...below two comments, other way round......

  • man i need to get flood control! LOL! thanks for the comments.

  • and also if you're gonna use downstrokes in your strumming then keep your hand resting on the bridge so that the chords stay tighter, like kind of muting I guess maybe, which is better with distortion anyway... (I'm not sure if you were doing that or not, maybe you were, but hard to tell), and practise using your pinky finger! :P- nice job though, well done :) and sick guitar!!

  • Hey good job man, just thought I'd suggest that when you're picking and strumming use upstrokes as well as down because it will connect your notes and chords together better and can make it swing more and you'll be able to play faster licks and overall it will give you better rythm in your right hand so better rythm for the songs you play,

  • çoh hoş:P

  • dude , honestly, not bad.

of course its not perfect but you gave it your best shot.

what you should now do is learn to play the sabbath way, and kind of fuse the 2 together.

i think that would be cool. nice guitar by the way man and i enjoyed your playing.

  • what's this disto??

  • finally some constructive criticism. Thanks. i'm still trying to teach myself how to do leads. i've never really had lessons so i'm slowly progressing. its kinda hard to teach yourself technique so i just keep fucking around and eventually hope to get better at it.

  • Just got to watch people on youtube, XD you`ll eventually start to pick up your own technique, no matter how bad it looks if it sounds right your doing it right, Its how alot of people around my area learned how to play interments, Teaching yourslef is better then learning from a teacher because you learn at your own pace and get a greater understanding

  • omg.. Metallica's version of this song is sooo bad.. i mean.. the guy can't even sing! Sure, it maybe heavier, but it's not anyway near the real thing

  • i love the origonals. i think that the way Metallica mixed the 2 songs together was just awesome. besides, i never really thought that the ending to A National Acrobat fit the rest of the song. In general the song has a depressed feel to it but the end seems a little to happy for the rest of the song.

  • its not supposed to sound exactly the same. that's why its called a cover, cause someone else does it.

  • Why didn't you learn the Sabbath versions? The Metallica versions are crappy

  • well in a sense, i did learn the Sabbath versions. haha. dumbass! Besides the only thing that is really different is that i dont play then ending parts of either song.

  • no you learned the metallica versions hence them sounding wrong

  • i didn't cover the sabbath version, i covered the Metallica Version, so it does sound right. If you don't like it, you didn't have to listen to it.

  • nice, but the distortion is super-cheapo-bad...

  • yeah i know. its cause its being plugged directly into the computer rather than mic'ing an Amp

  • just the guitar or with a distortion?

  • no the guitar is plugged into the processor, the processor is plugged into the line in on the computer. to get a really good sound you have to have the processor plugged into an amp and then mic it up, but i only have a desktop mic and it wont sound good at all. listen to my vid "Me practicing my new song" you'll see what i mean.

  • try the amp-simulation in your processor if there is any... and reduce the gain maybe?

  • yup, i'm currently doing a cover of for whom the bell tolls. i'm still getting used to plugging into the computer since its not something you'd normally do but i think i've finally found the right eq settings and amp selections to make it sound right. i should have it up within the next few days.

  • just go back through all of my songs and you'll see that each time, i'll have a different sound cause i'm trying to find what works.

  • no, i learned this by ear. you are supposed to tune it down 1 or 1 1/2 steps but i just used normal tuning which is why it looks kinda funny the way i play it. just google sabbra cadabra and look for metallica's version of it because this song is actually a merging of sabbra cadabra and a national acrobat.

  • I like your way of playing that shit

    Very Good

  • sweet. thats a nice distortion sound and the song was bang on... keep it up

  • thanks!

  • Sounds awesome man!

How long have you been playing?

  • Self taught over the last 8 years

  • lol... nah it wasnt important, just an ASCII Corna (Rock horns) :)

  • ROCKS MAN.

Wrote a longer comment (340 characters) and this ass of a thing wont let it post says it must be less than 500 characters IT WAS! :(

  • well thanks anyways, you could always just send a message.

  • the sound quality isn't very good but it's better than what i could do

  • i think it's better than anyone else's on here but maybe i'm just biased

  • Ooh, sounds nice. Well done.

  • pls guitar pro tab

  • sorry man, i learned by ear. besides, i'm sure there is a simpler way of playing it. i did it in standard tuning but i think i was supposed to tuned down 1/2 step or something. if i find a link to a good tabs source i'll email you.

  • this song is tuned a whole step down by the way (DGCFAD)

  • Nice one mate, im in the process of learning this at the mo. Like your guitar, and nice sound!

  • thanks man! i really appreciate it!

  • nice work i love this song! can u give me a link to your tabs?

  • it's an epiphone, it doesn't say what model it is but is the equivelant of a gibson galaxy with humbuckers.

  • Awesome. I reakon you should add a few slides. Like on the e string. That would sound freakin awesome

  • well done

  • other than the one minor f**k up midway through. but yeah the rest came out alright.
