The 99 JDM version had options for aftermarket BBS rims...they had alot of special options to try a make it sell the last few years in Japan. They also had Recaro seats as a factory option.
I'm sorry but...the Japanese DO NOT know how to market their own products. They use the most unmatching music, background, etc. to market their products; it's like getting a prissy, old white guy and asking him to rate Jay-Z's new album, or asking a street thug to attend the Playboy jazz festival.
Uh yes, thank u.u see,the reason japanese autos sold in the 70's is because a serrendipitous event, oil crisis, made it imperative for Americans to buy japanese fuel efficient cars. This is the only time Americans felt compelled to buy Japanese cars.Otherwise,it's the efforts of AMERICAN MARKETERS, the Japanese couldn't do this with their automaton-like culture.I've been to Japan, and I speak from experience in dealing w/ Japanese people.Learn how to express yourself more emphatically, Mr. Roboto!
different cultures call for different styles of advertising. this ad may be fruity in the States, but in Japan this is considered, at the very least, a passable ad.

I have to disagree, and say that the opposite is true. The Z32 was just too far away from what a Z car should be. They are expensive to buy, and expensive to maintain. They are heavy, and bulky. They are not a true sports car. Just a glorified touring car.
Maybe so, but you can drive 5,000km in ease in a "true" sports car? I submit that you cannot. Being a GT car is not always a bad thing, and infact more practical than a bare bones sports car. If you want to take it to the track just strip it down and tune the suspension to suit. It's not like the 300ZX never raced professionally.
Of course, the car in the commercial has long been exported to Australia or scrapped and it's engine sold, since the Japanese government has such stupid laws when it comes to emissions.
Oh well, their loss is our gain. It's the reason you still see road-worthy 20+ year old Toyotas and Hondas out there, because you can get the gently used engines from the scrapped JDM cars so cheap.
no words at all, very good commercial. i picked up a 96 300z n/a....love it....wanted this car since the 90's..but i was too young to afford. car is a beast....
haha hes right! now theyre affordable to the average dperson with an average income were very expensive when they came out but they were the best sports cars around 300hp in the early 90s is pretty good and the handling on them is AWESOME! i have an NA and with my stock suspension i can still take turns like a champ! awesome car!
Dammit, this only makes me want a Z more.

are u suggesting people choose their purchase of a car based on advertising?
who cares if the advertising is bad the car is down right sexy. I would agree its a pretty bad ad, but i'd still buy the car.
I would base it on looks, performance and reliability - the only thing any car ad will tell u is looks...
davleberry 2 years ago
You'd be quite surprised how powerful and persuasive/efficacious advertising and marketing is. Just watch superbowl football commercials my friend.

I agree with Jonathanowns. I rather like this advertisement. I think the music is quite nice, specially at 0:11 - 0:13.
Beautiful ad for a beautiful car.
