  • tuning the bottom drum head shouldn't be part of how to fix a snare

  • with my snare one day it sounded absolutly perfect then the next i kept hearing this obnoxious ringing noise everytime i hit it and it bothers me alot does anyone know what i can do to get rid of the noise

  • my marching snare is really makin me mad, i tune the bottom head and when i get done i turn it over to play it and it sounds absolutely perfect, no complaints, but after playing it for 5 seconds it goes back to its original crappy sound. i check the lugs and they are looser than before. its not the tightness of the bottom head cuz i tune the bottom tightly. can anyone help me out here?

  • try buying, i forget the actual name, but there plastic squares that go on your tuning screws, right above the rim and what they do is they keep the screw from loosening and de-tuning. their cheap i think its under $10 and you get a bunch of them

  • @nickpISgreat the name is LugLocks. You can get them at GuitarCenter for cheap. I had to put them on my set snare because I tune it like a piccolo. Works like a charm!

  • You might need new heads. How old are they? Also how old is the drum? You're lugs might be stripped or even, God forbid, the tension rods might stripped. If the plastic squares nickplSgreat suggested don't work, try replace the lugs. If that doesn't work I suggest taking it to a drum shop.

  • I have the same exact problem it makes me soooo mad

  • yeah the same rules apply
