We could end allot of corruption simply by reverting to publicly funded elections.I don't say independently funded. The responsibility is ours,we should thru govt fund it. EPA FDA should be operated independently and staffed by science minded people..We could work with universities on this ,and health care too for that matter. What trivial arguments do you refer to? What secret agenda do think is being negotiated behind closed doors?

I believe the answer to that is the end of national sovreignty, but before that can happen, the dollar must become obsolete.
For years our industrial complex has been incrementally dismantled. In other words we have gone from a once prosperous producing nation to a nation that has nothing but printed money to offer the world.
we have been bickering over petty issues like healthcare not paying attention to the side lines.
g20 CONTROLS 85 percent of gdp, they are calling the shots...

gov was designed much like corporations so that no single person could change it as a whole (Departmentalized).
okc,9/11 etc has changed that role considerably.
Now we have executive orders or decisions that can be made by one person. The sad thing is that we allowed fear to cloud good judgement and now must suffer at no longer having a real voice...
we have lost our individualism and ability to think independently. Those that try are labeled kooks and nut cases! I will accept that title!!!

What is happening is American workers are being taught to accept less income and a lower standard of living. Capitalism insists on the lowest production costs. I cant blame the G20,as much as our own business leaders, and politicians. So we find our middle and lower income citizens fighting over crumbs.I don't think health care is trivial. It may be our last and only chance to extract any measure of security for ourselves and children.

they are being FORCED, not taught to accept lesser wages. When there is less industry, there is less work for the skilled force. They are then put in a place to accept lower paying jobs that require less skill. The outsource of industry is the result of greed from corporate run america and its political influence in gov. This is what give capitalism a bad name. In my opinion, we are to blame for allowing corps to ease their way into gov.

Health care is trivial because in order for it to work, we must have a strong secure nation. We have become distracted from the core values that once brought pride to this nation. Though full of mistakes/unjustices, this nation was still regarded as the top destination for those strong enough to dream big and make it happen.
SECURITY for our children depends on our ability to make our own decisions not ones decided by the few elites from the g20 un, etc. Sovereignty and foundation the is key.

Our children need to understand history, real history. They need re-learn what the ultimate sacrifice provided them. Many died so that fucks like us can bitch and whine on a damn computer, and live in a place where true hunger and pain are nearly non existent. They need to learn that there is no free ride in life, and that they must be independent not dependant on gov for their every need.

Health care is not trivial! Health care is a major component to a strong secure nation. Every industrialized nation has universal health care.Our system,makes this country less competitive,not more. The other component is education. Why are Americans happy paying soldiers training,room&board,healthcare,but not willing to do the same for medical students,engeneers,scientists etc? Isnt each as important to security?

Hmm, I dated a girl in toronto canada. During that time, her appendix burst. we went to a major hospital in scarborogh, ontario. I must admit, the intake process was speedy, but the wait was over 3 hours of agonizing waiting. She had to wait her turn like everyone else...
Furthermore, taxes are through the roof (after all someone has to pay for all of this right?) I cannot remember just how high, but it was enough to make her bitch about the QUALITY of care she received.

Univ. health funds are so tight in G.B. that if a woman has a preemie before 26 weeks it is considered stillborn. Hence the woman who had a baby premature, sought medical help for the moving breathing baby only to be refused because she missed the cut-off by 1 wk. The hosp. told her there was nothing they could do but assign her a midwife, the baby subsequently died. It would have cost too much to keep that child on life support, so, to save on costs, they let it die.

They also need to get their priorities right. Besides both sides can bring up anecdotal stories to support their side. Still,in GB they could change their system ,but they wont.

Well at least she got care. In Can. their system is popular. Canada and other countries spend less pr person than we do, so it should be safe to say your total cost will be less.Plus We train and support soldiers,cant we train and support doctors and nurses and techs. We built military bases and equip. Cant we build clinics and build med equip. Its all tax dollars,isn't it a matter of priorities?

Contrary to what that overweight disgusting pig Micheal Moore has to say about healthcare, I know we have the best healthcare and state of the art technology in the world. In certain areas in canada, cancer patients must wait upto 3 months for an M.R.I. The equipment is so expensive that the machines are limited in number, and are over worked.
Try going to cuba and getting an M.R.I.
I pay for my sucky healthcare, because I know it is my duty to look after mine, not the gov to look after me.

I never said I was happy note the "sucky" part?
I am content though in knowing that I pay my own way, and do not burden society with social/welfare costs. Furthermore, I have more faith in my sucky insurance company than I do in my own government; which by the way can't even keep the post office in check, not to mention the deficit.
Beofre we take the healthcare plunge, maybe gov should get off it's ass and correct run away spending. Then, maybe I might be inclined to give it a try...
