  • Austin's music playing immediately after King and JR got emotional was great. They had the timing right on the mark with that.

  • This was the TRUE attitude era in WWE...it ended right after Jeff Jarrett lost to Chyna and went to WCW, and Vince Russo along with him. A lot of people say Russo sucks, which maybe true, but the edgy program WWF turned out with him was way better than the stuff they did after him, like Right to Censor, Rikishi's stink face, and Good Times Comissioner Foley...Love Mic, but he on screen he seemed to come across as the guy who tries too hard to be cool, which was dumb.

  • @thetrophyone Russo doesn't suck if he has somoene who knows how to tell him no. Russo in WWF had McMahon, if russo knew something was good he could argue with McMahon, but if he produced shit, McMahon would tell him, and thats why WWF's writing was amazing, and why Russo has failed in WCW and TNA, the owners of both companies don't know how to tell Russo no.

  • Whose cutting those damn onions?!

  • DEBRA LIPS LOOK SO SEXY THE QUEEN OF SHORT SKIRTS

  • someone should do a compilation of the tributes by the superstars towards eddie

  • What JR said at the end....I don't believe in an afterlife, but I'm overwhelmed at how poignant that is. That's the kind of way I'd want to be remembered.

  • Debra chokes me up

  • why he never became a champion ill never know...but hes an undisputed champion where he is now.....God Bless you Owen.

  • Debra's interview was Epic.......

  • how old are his kids now?

  • @187NewJack His Son Oje is now 19 years old and his daugter Athena is 16 years old.

  • @MattWn20 You think you can post that somewhere where it would be more appropriate? This isn't about girls you find hot or girls you want to disrespect. It's about a good man's death.

  • there is no other superstar, legend wwe/wwf did something like this for, regardless it being an accident he belongs in the hall of fame r.i.p owen

  • The Undertaker didn't release a video or participate in the scheduled match because he immediately flew to Bret Hart's side. There were several articles and stories in it.

  • @Lpdon78 undertaker also did the same when eddie guerrero died he flew to give his respect to the guerrero family

  • @joliemadchen The Rock didnt have to say anything first of all but he did. and back in the day The Rock would never break Character like he dose nowadays but at 5:05 he breaks character and tells owen he loves him and thats all you really need.

  • I remember watching this show on TV and when i hear J.R. say " all I can say about Owen Hart is i hope I can be as good as a man as him... so I can see him again some day" i always get choked up RIP Owen 12 years we will never forget you

  • j.r. and the king = pure class!

  • Ok ppl stop puttin the wrestlers down everyone deals with the pain differently... Yea Steve Austin drank some beer but to us TEXANS a beer salute is the sign of ultimate respect and says a lot... idk what the truth is about Owens passing but ik that yes it's a tradgety but if u trully respect someone u do it in a way that best fits u... and no The Undertaker isn't in any tribute videos but that's just the way he is...

  • Everyone should of came out in Owen's theme (not Blue Blazer) in tribute to him and for us to of heard his theme for the last time in a WWE arena!

  • The thing I notice is that The Rock makes it all about him. There's something to be said for staying in character, but he really comes off as an egomaniac. Also, those comments about Debra are incredibly bigoted and tone-deaf. Her tribute was touching and heartfelt, unlike The Rock's me-me-me fest.

  • @joliemadchen all the wrestlers that went into ring kinda stayed in character tbh

  • Nearly a dozen years later and my heart still breaks for Owen. He was an incredible person and an amazing athlete. I hope he's not pulling too many pranks on the angels but he has some company in Davey Boy and Pillman and his parents. He will never be forgotten.

Sad though that this didn't have to happen.

  • @nath909 yeah nath909, that's what this tribute is about. The accent of these people who have just lost a friend. Debra may not be the most articulate person in the world, that maybe true. Her message is very clear wouldn't you say? But then again, you are only a small-minded person. You're missing the entire point of this "Owen Heart tribute". Show some respect.

  • @ChizmanInDenver If anything she seems like the most geniune of all. Hearing her and Jeff tears me up.

  • @MrBill297 Stone Cold and owen may have had a strained relationship after owen broke SCSA's neck. Stone Cold kinda goes into it on the Stone Cold Truth DVD where he was miffed that Owen never called him after the botched piledriver. So he may not have had anything that was fit for public consumption, or maybe he didn't know what to feel, or maybe he just didn't want to say anything and just do his tribute.

  • I know that stone cold was the big star at the time but I really think that the toast that he does is really unessary. He could have said how he felt about owen, the times they had cause i'm sure he has some good storys to tell of owen they had a long fued that brought him and the heart family together and all he does is a beer chug to owen. I'm sorry but I think he could have done, or should have done alot more than that.

  • The commentator's section is completely gut-wrenching, you can really hear the honesty.

  • @daavpuke I agree, even with all these tributes, Jim Ross's comments are the ones that really jump out at me.

  • he should be in the hall of fame

  • @mmargaret28

Vince have tried many, many times but Owen's wife does not let them to induct Owen into the Hall Of Fame.

  • @Nacturl I kind of guessed that I've read Bret Harts Book when you look at what it is said I can't see His wife letting Owen Hart being inducted into the hall of fame

  • O. owen hart W. wins E. every ones N. never ending love.......... Owen

  • I was in the Kiel Center that night in STL. I was 14 and there literally was not a dry eye in the house. Owen had been one of my favorites for a long time. Even in my total markdom of only liking the god guys and hating everyone thats a heel, I loved Owen Hart. The only bad guy I liked at that point. I remember saving up all summer to watch Summerslam 94' and when Bret won I got grounded for throwing the remote into the wall and breaking it. Haha. RIP Owen.

  • I remember bawling my eyes out that night when Austin toasted to Owen.

  • Owen's wife really pisses me off...

  • I started getting choked up when Debra was talking too.

  • i gotta be real....i really lost it when debra said...."i still can't believe your gone....i keep looking for you".....god, i felt that...also, when king and j.r. talked...when king says...."don't EVER leave home without telling your family how much u love them"....

  • @smush48 and what king said towards the end 'don't ever leave home w/o telling the ppl u love what u think of them' i used to be a selfish little brat as a child and when i saw this and realized that two kids just lost a parent right before their young eyes makes me appreciate my mother and older brother (who is the father figure in my life) a whole lot more and i now make sure i don't let my mom leave for work or anything w/o hugging her and telling her i luv her

  • Man, 7:17-8:07...

  • where is the undertaker he is the only one who doesn't shows up in this tribute

  • @mxxm007 IIRC, to have a guy, who had a demonic character based on death and evil, make a tribute, they thought that would be tasteless, or inappropriate.

  • @mxxm007 SInce it was a live show he probably came out after the camera's were done rolling to come out just like he did for Ric Flair

  • Man, I was 9 years old when Owen died. I cried so much watching Raw that night because he was one of my favorite wrestlers. R.I.P. Owen Hart, you'll always be missed through out the years!

  • Owen i wish you and all the other greats could come back, but since you can't just know that we love you and miss you. I look forward to seeing you and the others in the ring when im dead. Be ready for a hell of a match in heavan. Love you all I'll see you down the road.

  • 1:54 - 1:58 brought tears to my eyes the first time I watched it, three years ago. And now, I watch it again and it still managed to bring tears to my eyes.

    RIP Owen.

  • LOL on a note to make everyone happy.... how much beer over Austin's career do you think was wasted when he did his chugs?

  • just wondering did'nt steve austin dislike owen for what he did to his neck, just wondering.

  • @lilac420 No, why would he dislike Owen over an accident? That's all it was, an accidental botched wrestling move. Owen was very concerned about Austin after it happened and I'm sure it upset him quite a bit. Watch the Owen Hart interview on here where he's discussing the accident and you'll see what I mean. youtube dot com/watch?v=-X_HmLqpT4M

  • @daren420c Austin was pissed off because Owen never once called him after the accident to ask if he was OK. Bret even mentioned he was pissed off, and bret gave owen shit for it, Austin mentioned it in an interview, he said he forgave him, but at the time he thought it was pretty low and if he would have hurt someone like that he would have called him everyday to see how they were. It is the closest thing I have EVER seen to some one saying something bad about owen.

  • Yes owen was one of the biggest wrestlers there ever was and he died doing just that....But you knw what the saddest thing is?. Around all the egos and this fantasy world was straight up down to earth nice guy. A guy who was liked and loved by mostly everyone he worked with, a man who was very tight with his money on the road because he'd rather spend it on his wife and kids. A man who had no problem putting a friend over himself when you perform in his hometown. RIP owen great wrestler and man.

  • when shane talked u can really feel the harts and mcmahons was really close

  • RIP to my favorite wrestler of all time, Owen Hart

  • what i want to know is why isn't he in the hall of fame? WHY? they were quick to put eddie (no offense to him) but why don't they give this man a spot in there?

  • @BYOSProductions Owen Hart's wife refuses to have him in there

  • @youngsterguy4 thats rediculous

  • @BYOSProductions yep it is but Martha (his wife) keeps suing wwe even at a slight reference of his name like on the Hart Family dvd.

  • Its so hard to hear JR and The King Speaking like that!

  • Watching Debra talking here is just so touching. I wouldn't even think of blaming her in the slightest if she decided not to say anything at all. If I was the cameraman here and saw Debra like that, I'd put all the equipment down, step in and give that poor, broken woman a hug.

R.I.P. Owen Hart. You were one of the greatest Canadians in history.

  • It wasn't a piledriver, it was an inverted sitout tombstone. Very hard to take, and it was a botch on both wrestlers parts.

  • @comicad An "inverted sitout tombstone" is still a piledriver. Duh.

  • at 2:00 I lost it.

  • i had this on vhs. and i left all my tapes at my old house when i moved. who knows this probly was my exact tape

  • @TonyStress360 dang I hope you can get them tapes back:)

  • r i p 2 owen hart and fucc the 13 haters

  • God this still kills me. :(

  • @Vamphaery i know

  • From these vids... it's clear to see who he was closest too. Mark Henry, Jeff Jarett, Road Dogg, Debra....

  • @Suprahampton x-pac too..only thing he was stoned during the vid since he was in depression

  • @Suprahampton Yeah , but you forgot Triple H , but that's ok. I totally miss the kid too. and like Vamphaery says , this still kills me

  • OWEN FOR 2011 WWE HOF!!!

  • Owen's oldest son must be getting close to 18. What happens when his kids turn 18? If they want their dad to be honored by the WWF/E will they have any power over their mother?

  • @malaris60 Ya know, that`s a damn good question; never thought of that. The smart money says they`ll still side with their mother on it, cause it`s still such a tragedy, even to this day. And deservedly so, in a sense. Good point you made, though.

  • In response to some of the comments criticizing McMahon for allowing the PPV to go on, well just try to put yourself in his shoes. 11+ years later and people are still debating it. People with much less emotional, personal, professional attachment to the situation. Vince had to make a split second decision under the most horrible of circumstances. He also had to be concerned about how the crowd would react if they were to cancel the show, and how many idiots would disrespect what was going on.

  • I think the show should have ended with the Rock instead of Stone Cold. The Rock and Owen were much closer friends than Owen and Stone Cold were.

  • @malaris60

Austin was the big star here. There is no way in early 1999 that someone would take the main event/spot light from Austin. The Rock was just starting to become a face.

  • the reason why owen hasn't been inducted in the hall of fame and why he's rarely mentioned is because after his death hi wife filed and won a wrongful death lawsuit, and basically wants nothing to do with the wwe and doesn't want him mentioned either.

  • Awesome how Stone Cold leaves one last beer for owen in the ring

  • Now thats respect RIP Owen!

  • r.i.p owen

and his widow is absolutely nuts apparently shes sued the wwe again

  • And The Undertaker?

  • @McEaux i kno wat u mean about undertaker not saying something, but the prob is when he wasnt the american badass his character couldnt really be broke and tht has kept him from doing so much and the undertaker in real life is prob one of the most down to earth wrestlers and u hear tht through many autobios of wrestlers, ive been hearing tht he will write his own, so i think he will mention ppl like eddie and owen in his book

  • @BigDaddyCooL1 If Taker ever writes his own autobiography then I guarantee I will buy that book. A Taker autobiography for American fans would be as anticipated as the Bret Hart autobiography in Canada and throughout the rest of the world.

  • @HuskerFanatic I would buy it in a minute, mark is one of if not thee most respected guy's in the business. I saw the off the record interview with him and he is a straight shooter/forward guy . he wouldn't bullshit he would tell things like they happened. Hell, he went to Vince after the screw job and told him to go talk to Bret NOW! (or else in not so many words) vince had locked himself in his office, takes balls and respect to order your boss to do something.

  • @bigrigbob2010 yep. not that we didn't know but he's pretty much been the captain of that roster for the last decade or so. He's been through it all, he's seen it all and he has his own unique set of views. he's the poster child of why WWF beat WCW in the Monday Night Wars - he was in it to make superstars better and put them over unlike Nash, Hall, Hogan who were only in it for the all mighty dollar.

and the tip of the cap to HBK after Mania this year was unbelievable.

  • @HuskerFanatic Right on, that is exactly why he is so respected, he has always put the good of the company and the business before his own interests. He is one of the few veterans that Is not worried about holding on to his spot and being the top guy, he want's to get the next generation ready. kane being the other one. The only reason they keep putting the belt back on him is if no one else is ready/can't handle it, he is a proven draw that will do what is right when the time comes to drop it.

  • @bigrigbob2010 as much as you guys hate Shawn up there, I'd put the 2002-2010 Michaels in that category as well Didn't want to hold a world title after December 2002 to the end of his career, worked with young superstars like Randy Orton and Batista to further their careers, put Jericho over many times, tapped to Benoit at Backlash in Edmonton and even more recently in Montreal, tapped to Rhodes and DiBiase at Breaking Point, and many more. but yes, Taker is the shining example of what you say

  • @HuskerFanatic I did like that Shawn (sincerly) said thanks to Bret in his retirement speech on raw. he didn't mention very many guy's at all, and to turn around and say Bret had every right to say all the things he has about him, showed a lot of humility on his part. I never hated him that much Just thought he was a goof.

Jericho won the belt and after WCW all he ever wanted was a shot to show what he could do, so he had made his point so to speak and didn't need to prove much after that.

  • @bigrigbob2010 and yes, 90s Michaels never would have done that. Big asshole in the 90s as Canadians know. Jericho is another guy i get the sense that never really cared about titles as much as helping young stars even though he was the first undisputed champion.

  • @HuskerFanatic 90's Shawn, well, Back to taker... He had to threatened Shawn to Drop the belt at WM w/tyson to Austin because he was refusing to put Steve over. He more or less told him "if you don't go out there and do the job, You'll be doing it back here to me" Shawn put Austin over LOL.

Even Shawn admited he was an asshole in those days. Funny thing Bret said in a number of interviews,as much as he hated his guts personally, Shawn was one of the very Best in the business in the ring .

  • @McEaux I always wondered why Taker never spoke too. He was basically the captain of the roster at the time. Him and Owen were continuously with the WWF much longer than any other wrestler. I figured they might have thought it would be in poor taste for him to come out in his Undertaker gimmick and say his "Rest in Peace" catchprase, especially given that he was a heel at the time, but why not let him do an out of character interview? He probably would have had the best stories of anyone.

  • @malaris60 Because Taker is very much into keeping kayfabe and staying in character. Basically he's still old school about certain aspects of the business.

  • @Realdeal232005 you eat shit what did ghtuv123 do to you

  • Even though it's been 11 years it's still heartbreaking.

  • This was the event that turned me off of pro wrestling this episode of raw wass also the last WWF live program that ever watched.

A man shouldn't have had to die for a silly gimmick that was administrated as punishment for not wanting to do something that he felt was immoral and set a bad example for the kids in the audience.

Vince Russo dreamed up the stunt when he knew that Owen was terrified of heights and then after Owen died he had the gall to blame Owen for the accident that killed him.

  • @DawnPatroll1 As I discovered in "The rise and fall of WCW", Vince Russo is a cocky, self righteous, arrogant fuck, who isnt half as brilliant as he thinks he is.

  • man i got teary eyed with jr and kings speech we will always miss you owen

  • you can tell that Debra took it hard her hair was messed up and she was wearing a plain blue jacket instead of her suit and every time i see her tribute i cry

  • I just got done watching all 4 videos & I'm not ashamed to say I'm crying. I remember watching Over The Edge 1999 live with my brothers. I was 8-years-old & truly didn't understand what happened to Owen, but now that I'm older & understand......I can't help but cry

  • @ghvtvku123 fuck you

  • @ghvtvku123 u have no fucking class u need to grow the fuck up

  • @ghvtvku123 No Fuck You And Your Family. Personally i don't like the Harts, not Bret, didn't like owen, nor jim neidhart. But i have enough respect for a dead man and his family to say this. R.I.P. Owen Hart. You will be missed by many.

  • @ghvtvku123 eat shit, MAKE SURE HIS FAMILY DON'T SEE WHAT YOU SAID!

  • martha hart owns the rights to her husbands name.

  • thankyou owen R.I.P.

  • King's right. Never leave home without telling the people you love what you think. I'm guilty of it too, but he's right on there.

  • Man, watching all four parts of this tribute in a row really makes you appreciate life a bit more.

By the way all you people talking shit to each other on this video should be ashamed of yourself, go act tough via another YouTube video, especially "kustomchainwerks"...

  • sean was so roided out back then

  • @Nordfelt Waltman??

  • @freshman5000

    morley

  • @Nordfelt oh hes jus fat now thats why it looks that way in comparison

  • Image aside, Debra seems like she'd be a genuinely sweet, funny person to know

  • @kustomchainwerks Thank Goodness You Didnt Say Get Fucked And Die But I Thought I Told U To SHUT THE HELL UP! Youre Really Pissing Me Off1

  • @2107Owen Close your motherfucking cockhole, you useless bag of kangaroo cornholing, Australian uncle fucking shit!!!! SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE TESTICLES!!

  • @katiegreen2010 Eat a fucking dick you Aboriginal monkey fucker. Theres a reason you shitbags are at the bottom of the world! STAY THERE!!

  • @kustomchainwerks

    I'd rather not :L creeep

  • @katiegreen2010 Look bitch, you speak when I give you permission to open that jizz filled cockhole you call a mouth and not before! Understand ! you goddamn anal wart infested cum guzzler.

  • @kustomchainwerks

    You're sick

  • @katiegreen2010 well, you sent me the pic ya little whore, now tell me how long you've had my name shaved into your pubic hairs.

  • @kustomchainwerks ur a fag bitch

  • @hbkhhhdxfan19 And you're a fucking chode. Owen should be ashamed of himself for faking his death like this. He's just trying to fuck poor Vince McMahon out of more money.

  • @kustomchainwerks JUST THE HELL UP!

  • What Jerry Lawler said in the end nearly had be breaking to tears, then Stone Cold's theme hit and the crowd went ballistic and my tears dried up and I started getting chills, then Austin toasts that beer for Owen and sets the other one down on the ring for him, got me right back in tears. You just couldn't help but love Owen Hart. He was a great guy, he loved his family, and he loved the wrestling business. RIP Owen Hart.

  • REST IN PEACE OWEN HART!

    IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship

    USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship

    WWF World Tag Team Championship

    WWF European Championship

    WWF Intercontinental Championship

  • 7:44 look at the assholes in the crowd, no respect.

  • show sum dam respect

  • i hated owen i the early 90s cause this shit brother stuff with bret and the egotrip of owen but damn, i miss u bro! and thx for uploading. its good to see wrestler or should i say actors, show feelings. its just a fucking show! nobody should forget that. there r humans in the ring like u and me. peace

  • who in thier rite mind would break another wrestlers neck on purpose. that move was supose to happen but owen didnt pick up stone cold rite on ACCIDENT. way to tell that guy off dude.

  • OWEN Also did "bad things"....and.does "evil"????

Are you an insane person?! Seriously? WTf kind of rubbish babble is that. You equate Owens accident with Austin as "evil" !!! How DUMB is that? It was an ACCIDENT you DOPE!!! NEVER equate Owens in ring accident with Austin to Benoit snapping and going on a Murdering spree. It truly amazes me how dopey some idiots like yourself truly can be. R.I.P OWEN.....a man who is faaaaaar from "evil"

  • and I suppose you know everything about wrestling? or the wrestlers personal lives? exactly you dont so shut the fuck up, and anyway, just because he did drugs, does that mean he was a bad person? no, does it mean he wasnt good to his family? no, does it mean he wasnt one of the best performers ever? no, does it mean he deserved to die? no, end of story

  • @seahawkLR

Your faggot Dad's a junkie. JIZZ-JUNKIE. You pussy.

  • because you dont bother to actually realize thats not true im just gonna call u a disrepectful prick

  • I saw him wrestle back in 97 or 98 at a house show, I was a little kid, I wasnt a big fan of him cause I didnt like jeff but hart was cool, I liked his alter ego more, I remember watching the pay-per-view when he died and thinking it was just a gimmick, but then the announcers said it was real and I remember watching this episode of raw so clearly, its crazy

  • how come the undertaker or kane didnt say anything ??

  • they prob didnt wanna break character, cuz at the time they were both shrouded in a lot of mystery, unlike today, but kane in particular had the mask and wasnt speaking so it would have been kinda strange

  • @metalmoniker yeaah truee

  • probably to preserve their characters or something. pointless in my opinion.

  • this was a hell of a night... i remember it like it was yesterday

  • As real as it gets.

  • They should have done a 10 year anniversary DVD for Owen this year.

  • I suspect that will only be a matter of time now,but I'm sure Owen's widow Martha is still vindictive towards Vinnie Mac and rightfully so.

  • @syxxsyxxsyxx

yep.. i agree with that totally

  • @syxxsyxxsyxx i agree unfortunately that wont happen because of owens widow

  • @syxxsyxxsyxx That would be awesome, but it won't ever happen. Owen's widow has to give the ok for any DVD or whatever. She doesn't WWE to ever do anything involving Owen because she hates the company. That's why he's not in the Hall of Fame, either. It's a shame, his career needs to be celebtated.

  • @syxxsyxxsyxx I agree. The tribute interview should probably be on a Raw aniversay dvd.

  • @syxxsyxxsyxx probably not gonna happen since Martha Hart (his wife) is suing WWE over wrongful usage of Owen Hart's name.

  • @syxxsyxxsyxx Fat chance bro . WWE will never give the fans an all Owen Hart DVD. It will never hapen. How come the WWE nver made an O)wen Hart action figure ? WWE are a bunch of ass holes .

  • @thanhbites actually its his wife, she doenst want his name, likeness, or anything else about to be seen, used, or associated with WWE, nor any other wrestling organization, nor anything involved with wrestling

  • @thanhbites No its because his wife(Owen) is a selfish souless greedly loser

  • @thanhbites No. Owne's wife will never give the fans what we want. She wants cash for his likeness. Now, if Vince found someplace for Vickie he'd have found someplace for Owens family.

  • I`m STILL kinda conflicted........would you show up to work if a friend/co-worker had just died the day before?? Lookin at just about everyone that night, it`s like nobody wanted to be there!!!

  • like in theater... show must go on...

  • Yeah, I suppose. But not that night; I could see in a month or so. Or even later that week. Cause ya gotta find time to grieve. I dunno; maybe I`m just a little too sentimental!!! LOL
