I am gay, and I too didn't really "get it" before watching the show. I now think of these performers as artists...the GEISHA of our time. It's entertainment. I will and he is such a sweet guy. One of the things that I think has brought him far in this profession is that he is a genuine fella and he doesn't take the drag thing too seriously. Meaning, he knows he is not a woman and he is not bitchy like lots of drag queens are. Even the show considered him to be the "Mother Hen" of the group of guys on the show. If you get a chance watch a movie called "Pageant", he is one of the guys who is featured in it. It is a documentary and pretty good too.
