    Actually the latest rumor is electric since they bought over the fastest electric car. IF they do bring the supra back it will be the flagship on where Toyota is heading next. Though wouldn't mind owning a V8 supra either :)

  • @Tj1056 yeah, i have a HKS dragger exhaust and custom intake on my supra with stock twins, so they're pretty loud at like 14 psi. this car sounds like a 70 trim single.

  • @Tj1056 16 PSI on a 70 trim, and 16 PSI on stock twins are the exact same in terms of HP, the twins would probably spool faster actually.

  • @Tj1056 16 PSI is the same amount of air in a 70T and stock TT. yes the 70T can move more air meaning it can push up to 30 PSI(depending on the turbo). But it being a bigger turbo it takes longer to spool up.

  • @Tj1056 the V6 in the R35 is a more powerfull motor than the 2JZ. so it will make more power on the same amount of boost. my supra makes 410whp at 15PSI with an exhaust, intake and injectors/fuelpump. however i dont trust the stock turbos running that high. lol.

  • @kkage2 This has been covered a million times. The turbo gods said the power difference increase from a bigger turbo has to do largely from the larger turbine exhaust (less back pressure) and the compressed air isn't heated up as much as a small turbo (efficiency).

  • @Tj1056 what you just said is true. but 16 PSI is still 16 PSI, wether its a huge single turbo, or small TT, the power they make will be the same. Difference being small TT's will max out at 20-30 PSI, big singles can hit 30+ making way more power.

  • Lol, it's simply because his injectors are turned on during decelleration. That's related to tuning. Most aftermarket computers haev the option to have injectors on or off during decell. This can be dangerous, the exhaust can stay alight at idle. There are a few vids of cars on here with melted rear bars because of it. No cat + Injectors turned on = fireball.

  • Looks like it was a tad rich. How's your fuel curve? Have you had it on a computer yet? Some fine tuning, and you should pick up a few more ponies and eliminate the flare up.

  • @InitialDirt actually you'd be surprised. it's not necessarily in the muffler but there is a friction bearing in the exhaust on some older vehicles to help keep torque off the exhaust hangers when the engine moves.

  • When you punch it at 2k, and the turbo doesn't spool until about 5k, then you're going to have lag like that. It's for performance reading reasons. If he was on the streets, 5k in 3rd gear and punched it, it would spool within 1.5 seconds. You are automotive ignorant.

  • lol, congratulations. maybe you should try getting a wideband so you can properly adjust your a/f ratio and avoid cooking your paint. A fireball is one thing, but i think that qualifies as a flamethrower...i also find it hard to believe that doubling the boost on a stock system increased efficiency by 50% but...  and yes, I would take a 2JZ or a R34 over any v8. lighter, more efficient, and retardedly over-engineered.

  • Wow... WTF is up with the turbo lag? I've seen many T51s and T88s that have a lot less turbo lag even though they're huge. I'd expect a turbo outputting only this HP to be at full boost at 3500 RPM.

  • @x3styl the stock turbo's aren't "sweet" at 450rwhp, they are maxed.. unless you plan on raising the boost past 18 and potentially blowing them up (I've never ran more than 18 pounds on stock twins) its VERY hard to get 450rwhp out of stock twins, unless they are brand new out of the box and even then its tough, possible, but tough.

  • I like how people know the car is running rich by watching a video. There is no way to tell. Aggresive camshafts have what's called overlap where the intake and exhaust valve are open at the same time to allow the maximum amount of air in the cylinder each cycle, this dumps fresh fuel into the exhaust and flames or blips.

  • @Adam781 If you actually paid attention to the video you would notice that up until 14 he's running it up through the gears. Then at :14 he is in top gear and on throttle and it takes until :23 for the turbo to be at peak boost ( judging by the sound).

  • @Adam781 On a turbo'd car your powerband usually co insides with the spool of the turbo. Thats why turbo cars have whats called "lag", its the time in which the engine relys on the turbo to hit its "power band". Also, starting at very low RPM in top gear would mean the compressor housing would take a long time to spool up the turbo due to the load of the engine taking longer to build up the revs which account for charging the turbo. Also known as....Lag

  • @Adam781 To be making that power the compressor housing would be alot bigger to allow more flow. (more flow = more power). the bigger it gets, the longer it takes to fill with air.

    so YES!, it would take that turbo that long to spool IN TOP GEAR!!!

    Do a search on here for "top gear evo lag" and tell me what you see in the video.

This obviously makes it seem worse than it is as in a real world scenario as the driver would drop a few cogs to get the boost on quicker. Im starting to think that you don't know what turbo lag is.   • @PioneerVCCS If its a dyno pull I would have thought it would be full throttle in top gear. As thats how the dyno works out the torque and bhp throughout the rev range. Giving it half throttle until the boost peaks then flooring it would give you some crazy readings as the car would only be using half of its potential until that point.
