They own the roads and sidewalks (paths) and infrastructue. We have to obey them because of this. If we lived on Island X in the middle of nowhere then we wouldn't. Declare ownership of a peice of land and you can do what you want on it as long as it's not on soil aready claimed. Nobody "owns" the earth.

Gage is an architect. Doesn't he have to know the importance of that information to a skyscraper holding itself up? How much has computer technology advanced since the WTC was designed. Couldn't they figure out the data in a year even without detailed blueprints? Gravity hasn't changed in the last few centuries.

1. WTC 7 collapsed in 14 seconds (From the start of the east penthouse collapse into the building.)
2. WTC 1 collapsed in 16 seconds (Timed by Fire fighter radio, and the videos of it's collapse)
3. WTC 2 collapsed in 22 seconds (Timed by video, filmed video from helicopters, and fire fighters in the lobby of WTC 1)
