Have you ever considered making replicas for sale? I mean that would be great for a con. Seriously i would totally buy a finished gunblade....hell i'd be cool with a midcompletion gunblade.
i don't know if this will help, but i suggest you can make that black base, where the blade sits on gun form, have like mid slot so that the gun height will look a lot less bulky.
im not a big fan of lightnings weapon because its presumed to be similar in its sword type to squalls when in all reality its notn a gunblade its just a sword tht can transform back and forth between sword and gun unlike squalls which was a combo weapon that could be used as both at the same time,m great vid tho btw

Well done great job! I wish there was a real electronic mechanism to control a real one. It's actually not that difficult to make a real functioning type of this gunblade in contrast with the revolver gunblade if we think that it's a normal gun with a transformation mechanism to become a sword :D

@ceittrin Thank you :D It actually looks a lot better now that I've finished it up and I hope it gets good reviews today when I debut it at my con. That's a pretty cheap price you got it for though, those things COST to make xD even without the transformation.

Im going to make a transforming gunblade too! im just going to scale an image then cut it out on cardboard, i dont know if im going to make it out of would though... i might just sculpey or foam it like i did for my keyblade heheh. NICE JOB btw!
I love Lightning's Gunblade even though I've never played Final Fantasy 13. I would like to build a cosplay prop like this that actually transforms. I will admit, I'd really love to make (or buy) one that transforms more like Lightning's Gunblade.
@KnightEnker I know what you mean. I just got my first chance to play the game a few weeks ago for about five minutes. And yet, I absolutely love the weapon. Just going for one form just makes the while thing feel... incomplete. Though I will say that if you have little previous work on props, I wouldn't recommend making it. There have been many times where I nearly gave up on it. It's quite the little project. @w@
@Sakura12592 Oh, I'm not a prop maker. I'm not good at that. If I had to work on a project, though, it would either be a replica of the Toy Laser Sword from Dead Rising or on this or a similar Gunblade.
@SasukeItachi1518 Haha yeah, I can understand. Well most of the people that I've seen make their own use foamboard and just glue all the pieces together. It's much lighter and easier to make it out of, especially if you don't need it to transform
