well i heard someone say that fringe is a hybrid between The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone, and Dark Angel. so if it is true (witch until the season 2 finale it seems like it) it`s way better than anything out there :) and the cast is extraordinary ... i mean it`s like the actors where born to do those roles. i hope that the show will last at least like The X-Files :) or more. let`s hope for the best XD

Why is it necessary for people to argue over which show is better? People are entitled to believe the X-Files is better than Fringe (and the opposite as well), but why try to start an argument over it? Just because someone does not think the same way as you does not mean their opinion should be bashed or discounted. Like what you like and let everyone else do the same. As for me? I like both the X-Files and Fringe.

At first I thought Oh NO! one of those Dawson's Creek kids. But Jackson is pretty good and the "Bourne Identity" type martial arts he broke out late last season are interesting. He interacts well with Noble. I like their scenes together. Looking forward to season 2 in a few days!

Wow, I have to totally disagree. I *Hated* the x-files. I watched maybe two episodes of that entire series. Scully! Mulder! Plueeeeze! NO Comparison to Fringe! Fringe is pure brilliant genius. And I did not want to get involved with Fringe. I did not want to like it. But no use. Too good. Too great!

X-files has become classic sci-fi. I like to think of Fringe as not replacing X-Files or even competing with it. They have similarities but ultimately the shows go in different directions. I think Fringe will go for a while and become another example of great Sci-Fi.

Well, here in New Zealand, the season just started but, try this: Mark Valley's character is a 'willy/ biff/happy loman' metaphor, 'Olivia Dunham an unconsumated linda loman metaphor, the other characters appear symbolically, electromagnetic elevator guy just screened last week, he's biff / happy - his mother tragic linda - the supervisor with his arm in the machine - willy too; though Olivia's a tragic extreme - or maybe my English Degrees making say crap again...lol!

What i believe is that Peter died when he was seven years old (remember Walter spoke of Peter suddenly got better from the suspected "Incurable" disease), but Walter went to the other reality and took him back. Which is why he cant remember his childhood

I just discovered Fringe recently. The show is well done, but I do have one issue with Peter Bishop's dialog. The wisecracks should be used SPARINGLY! When I start anticipating, then getting them every time he speaks, it's overkill.

A smattering, a sprinkling, a dash of humor can go a much longer way.

Trust me, I've been a fan of Fringe since day 1, but I have an observation: Fringe seemed to be set for season 2 long before the season finale, while Sarah Connor Chronicles was in a "what if" mode for weeks, and now it's cancelled? What's up with that? Does that mean they figured Fringe was going to do better? Well, at least I'll get the DVDs.

regarding SCC i read somewhere it was between Sarah Conner Chronicles and Dollhouse. Maybe they feared Joss Whedon fans starting a riot if they cancelled his show again. lol.

Yup that's in episode 4 "The Arrival." We still do not know who Robert Bishop is. Some are speculating he was Walter's father and Peter's grandfather.
