It is not AK-47. It is fake one and the dance in UAE is different than the dance in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia the dance is with swards.

It's a contest shown on sharjah tv as well as sama dubai. (I don't watch it since islam prohibits music and this dance as well, but I used to watch it a lot.)

Originally a tribal dance "al-maidan" or simply maidan is concidered a mainstream dance i the uae. Every year contest are held on order to find the most talented dancer.

It is like the "al-aradah" of syria and SAudi Arabia. Originally only drums were played.

Don't know the artist, because i dont hear music.

BTW. the dance is done with atrap weapons (ak.47) and seldom seen outside UAE.

This dancer's name is Mansur bin Shirara.

Basically what i'm telling you is that these people only dance this dance because Islam is a nametag in their neck, and not their lifestyle, may Allah fight those who don't have Imaan, ameen thumma ameen.

The kane is a sheepherds kane, used by beduins, and in de old days and even today people walkaround with them as a caltural thing andthe pride of being beduin.

And when they always have them in their hands, they started using them to dance with. (look up "saudi aradah" on youtube.)

There were some Arabs dancing with sticks and that was nice too. Will you recommend any site which I can see the UAE traditional dance for women?
