it's a prequel, you miss nothing

This game is a prequel. You could play them in either order, but it will effect how you see the game.

there's a huge mystery in ff7 that this will totally spoil if you play crisis core first. it's always best to play games in order of release, not timeline, because you'll miss references to future stuff that really takes away from the suspense of the game.
