that is mostly a two way street. but if you have an enemy that is starting a war, which means, that most of the time, they arent wanting to talk about anything, they just want what they want, then if someone else doesnt step in, alot more innocent ppl will eventually die as a result. however, like always, if you can resolve a conflict before it blows up any bigger, then that is always the better route.

He constantly showed sympathy to islamic peasants through the laws and discussions he held with leaders in Outremer.

@Aonfreak If you aren't thinking at *some* point about the other side in a conflict and how they're being affected by war, then yes, you damn well should be faulted. No one says you don't shoot back when the other guy is trying to kill you, and this song doesn't say that either. Like many anti-war songs, this is a lament about the constant inability of humans to empathize, which can stop war from happening in the first place—it's not a call to let people kill you.

@K0ragg ummm Richard was killed in France by a crossbow to the chest, he was never seriously wounded in the crusades and the only reason he didnt take Jerusalem was because he thought that Saladin a\had a larger army than he really did and Richard could have easily taken and held Jerusalem and changed the future dramatically, if he took it islam would have stopped at syria and Egypt and we wouldnt have this big mess we have now

@K0ragg no dude, u got it wrong in history. Richard was not wounded in the crusades, he was killed during the siege of Chalus-Chabrol in France by a crossbow bolt. Richard had a good chance to capture Jerusalem twice if i remember right, but he simply walked away no one knew why, even the soldiers under his command. He went back to recapture Jaffa from the saracens and by then the crusaders wear very tired and worn down. They only hoped to get back home.

@K0ragg Saladin was also under great pressure in his country due to his recent defeat at the Battle of Arsuf and at port city of Jaffa. So he came in to make truce so that Jerusalem would remain in saracen hands but the pilgrims would be allowed to visit the city. the crusades was like a bit of success and failure for both the saracens and the Europeans.

ok i said also that saladin wanted war xRieZx but i watched i film about him and there philip II killed the diplomats that were coming back to say at richard the lionheart that saladin will release the prisoners in sign of peace.Richard take it as an offense(didnt knew that philip due this)and the war started and saladin leet richard to enter jerusalim and both christians and muslims had the same rights for jerusalim.
