i'm from the usa, living in cambridge massachusetts. i return to palestine and israel each year for about 3 months. i love ramallah, as you do, and miss it when i'm not there. but i also love gaza, the galilee, the golan, the mediterranean coast, and jerusalem. luckily because i am from the usa i can go to all those places, whereas many palestinians, maybe you also, are prevented by israel from free travel. that has to change.

We are not perfect, we are not supposed to be, Europe and US have their own social flaws as well, everybody has. Still, Palestine's biggest and only enemy is occupation, not "the mentality of the arab muslims" as your friends had told you. And yes, living under aggression and violence all these years (caused by occupation) have generated many side effects within our society that may appear as not Israel fault for you, but they are!

yes, it snows periodically, like once (briefly) every few years. never when i was there in the winter. but snow fell last winter. i've seen lots of photos on line about this. ramallah is in the hills or mountains and is known for its relatively cool climate.
