Tommy Rogers. Best drop kick in the history of wrestling. Fantastics vs. Sheepherders my favorite fued of wrestling along with Abdullah vs. Bruiser Brody.
I remember watching Tommy Rogers wrestle in Georgia Championship Wrestling in the early eighties('83-84). He had some great battles against Les Thornton for the Junior Heavyweight title back then. He also faced Ted Dibiase in a televised one-on-one match with TV time remaining on WTBS Atlanta Superstation in 1984 sometime. The match ended in a melee because Brad Armstrong and Ole Anderson hit the ring after "Precious" Paul Ellering attacked Rogers after he was tossed from the ring by Dibiase.
@thegame what, this is matt borne who was the original doink who was also matt borne aka borneagain with shane douglas on ecw. He was the first doink who wrestled at wm 9 and after he was fired and they replaced him he became borneagain on ecw. I know for a fact...
@thegame There was only one Matt Borne and this is the one. He is just fairly early in his career here. Coming into his own at this time, actually. He also wrestled Mid-Atlantic, Georgia, Mid-South, WWF (lost to Ricky Steamboat at WM I), WCCW, WCW (as Big Josh) and other places as well.
Most ropes had garden hose over them them and then colored electrical tape over the hose in the 80's. Looks like just tape over the ropes(steel cables).
Excellent camera work/focus enhanced the pleasure of viewing this match,but T.R. is always worth viewing,Good looks,Good body,and a Good wrestler,enhanced his ring prescence,the guy seemed to have it all.Thanks for Posting.

I totally agree. He was quick, good ring psychology. I think his size (or lack of it) kept him from ever getting a mega-push.
