Iffy... I'm 13 (you guys look to be in high school) and I am playing this for an upcoming concert. It needs to be faster. The girl holds her cello funny.
well, carbon fiber cello's aren't 'horrible'... i mean, even yo yo ma plays it, and sometimes he prefers it, depending on the weather, what he's playing... so it can't possibly be all bad.. xD
if thats carbon fiber thats BEASTTTT and if it isnt well its still beast! its black!! carbon fibers are nice thow ive played one. that sounded nice thats one of my fav concertos! cellos rock =]
This may just be my opinion but since it is a concerto both parts should be memorized...that way you can really feel the music and each other's parts. Otherwise you are just worrying about the notes that you don't know and the passages that you should have practiced more. Try knowing all the notes and memorizing the whole piece before playing it next time, see for yourself how much better you will perform and enjoy the piece.
I like it a lot. I find it very pleasant to hear, despite some wrong notes. Who cares ? The important thing is the glabal feeling of people. And I feel good when I am listening to it ;-) The tempo is perfect according to me

You must listen to the same (Vivaldi: Concerto in G minor for 2 cellos - 1 movement) , put by user Pimili. Much smaller kids, but playing even better. And not Asians, but Europeans
Indeed, it is not uncommon to find different conflicting versions of Vivaldi's music. Think of RV540 where there are versions with more serious differences than just the mode of a minor scale.
To the specialists commenting on the e flat instead of the e natural: you forgot to comment on the f natural instead of the fsharp in the next note.
This is indeed not the usual way this phrase is heard. All the CD recordings I have heard have e natural- f sharp. BUT I have here a version in print which has EXACTLY what these guys are playing: e flat - f natural.
(Vivaldi, RV531, Ghedini-Starker, Int. Music company , New York, No 1782.
just the begining, it's not e flat come on dude! it's e natural!.. plus i even don' wanna talk about the pianist! good luck guys, cause you really need 'luck'
ok, maybe the intontation was right with the cellist, but the pianist was really awful and he made a lot of mistakes... i think this could be better.....
oh lord! you played it very slow... i think it's allegro, so i don't understand why is this so slow... the pianist is awful and the you had bad intoation... you need to study A LOT!!!!
mmm i think the intonation was alright its just that the camera was far away and zoomed, which changes the frequency of the pitch because of the distance the sound waves travel there's friction and disturbance with air molecules
Sorry, that isn't it. There have been live concerts in huge halls with the camera far, and you can definitely tell if it is a real intonation problem or not. It is ok to have mistakes, that is all part of learning to play an instrument. Good job so far. Great playing.
@Ephrizzz sound doesnt change frequency what happens is that the air pressure makes it harder for it for it to travel but let me tell you the pianist is horrible! hire me if u have to im 17 and im a cellist and a pianist since i was 5 for piano and 8 in cello
seriously ive played this piece and you cant do it correctly. sorry to be harsh but i give it a 2/10
(continued) And come on guys- youre in a performance.. you two couldve sat up straighter(it helps the sound), and a little vibrato wouldn't hurt anyone.. No vibrato just ruins the whole mood. Just keep working on it if you didn't put it aside already.. its definitely wasnt ready to perform, but atleast you tried!
mmm sry "ihatevanessamae" we cant be perfect. neither can you, there are imperfections in the world we have to live with, and if you expected it to be "dreadful" why did you watch it would be a waste of your time. We only had 3 weeks to practicing meeting once a week for an hour.
I watched the video of yours prior to this, and just as i expected when i saw this- the two cellists intonation together is almost dreadful. Alone, its not terrible at all with a few exceptions.. but really, this shouldve been practiced one note at a time together with a tunor until it was PERFECT if you wanted to perform it.
Iffy... I'm 13 (you guys look to be in high school) and I am playing this for an upcoming concert. It needs to be faster. The girl holds her cello funny.

I've seen the version of the sheet music for the piece they have. For some reason there's a misprint in the cellists' parts that has e-flat.
