@Alsoknownastk DCUO has a more up-to-date combat system but that's about it. There's really no reason to take sides without trying them all first. DCUO, City of Heroes, and Champions Online are all free to play.

@RickStrife2022 they added more powers without raising the level cap. at level 50, you can run Incarnate trials to get new powers if you're a VIP. currently 5 of 10 of the incarnate powers can be unlocked. the other 5 are coming at a later date.

Your damage numbers seem really low for level 50. This is more like what you should be seeing around level 12. How are level 50 even con minions dying with so little damage inflicted?

@Matu5e might want to get your eyes checked. 1. this is a scrapper, not a brute. 2. every minion dies in 1 or 2 hits unless I use both the two weakest attacks in the same chain. 3. using single-origin enhancements

@signalrunnr I understand it's a scrapper, which is what makes the damage numbers so odd. With Initial Strike, you're getting double hits of only 54 points. That's absurdly low. My L34 Broadsword scrapper will hit with Slash (the weakest attack in the set) for 93 points.

Then there's the whole issue with killing level 50 minions with only 200 points of damage. They simply aren't that fragile.

@Matu5e Broadsword hits harder because its animation times are slower and are slower to recharge. Broadsword's advantages are good burst damage and defense but it falls behind on tougher targets. It'd be pretty boring if all sets were created equal. Also, These are zone event mobs in a level 10-15 zone in Praetoria. They scale to all levels as even level mobs.

@signalrunnr I'm familiar with the difference in mechanics and faster/slower sets, I'd just expect that a level 50's -best- attack would do more damage than a level 34's -worst- attack. The auto-exemp for the zone event explains some of it though.

@Matu5e If you're talking about Initial Strike, that would be the "worst" attack. I see your point though. I usually don't pay attention to the actual damage numbers, just their health bars. The auto-scaling NPCs do explain it all.

@BiologicallySuper that would be the trenchcoat. it's the tier 2 paragon reward. you can get a reward token by buying any amount of points from the store (you get 1 bonus token for your first purchase and for every 1200 points you buy after that) or subscribe and get a free token every month.

i played this game for 2 months i crash every mission sometimes during the mission, i payed for it, 2 months of crashing i have 100 disc games and 500 on steam i have no problems with any game but this one i played better alphas and bla bla bla report it then so i went to report it and there were 35 pages of crash reports that day.play it if you want but if you got a ati 5k up good luck.

I bought this game and payed for a month of time and i made a bunch of chars when i payed for it but now that my time ran out they have to be unlocked at the store cause now they want 1k points for each char i have 6 characters made that have to be be bought in the store to unlock em 6k of points. 15 bucks get you 1320 points figure the rest out.I am done answering your question that was replied to my first post.I have nothing more to say about this matter.(Steam is the best F!@#$ the rest).

It's a combo-based powerset, and if you don't realize combo-based powersets are total crap, you haven't been playing City of Heroes long enough.

@ccjuju dual blade's combo system was horrible and the highest dps chain didn't involve a combo at all. luckily, StJ's combos don't work anything like dual blades. it works more like combo points on a rogue in WoW or rune carving on assassins in Aion.

So saying that all combo powersets are crap is a meaningless statement; you're basing that opinion on a single example. The way this set works, the combos are completely freeform both in power order execution and number of hits for the combos. You can play it however you want.

@ccjuju There's nothing wrong with Dual Blades. While the highest DPS chain doesn't involve a combo, it also requires a level of recharge that almost no one actually achieves. The Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals Combo chain is the standard DPS chain for the other 99% of builds. To me, the main sin of the Dual Blades combo system was being boring, not being ineffective.

@Lavos2007 I took a quick look at the damage per activation values for the skills and compared them to Martial Arts (one of the highest DPS sets). they're pretty close and it might not be the best but it's definitely not weak or average.

@signalrunnr Well technically there are new travel powers. The ones that come in the packs can be considered travel powers, but each one would have to be powered through the fitness pool to make them better and I also heard Rocket Board reaches a top speed higher than flight.

@ShurikenG Rocket board seemed pretty slow to me on the beta server. The Flight pool does get a new skill called Afterburner though. After slotting, it lets you achieve a max flight speed of around 87mph (regular flight being 58mph).
