gwt a sp-404sx with the new cards and you would be straight . i just bought a numark pro tt2 turntable and a gemini mixer and i was wondering how to connect the sp to my dj rig for sampleling off vynil
it's a sampler, for constructing songs from sampled fragments (ie kick drum, snare drum, bass hits, piano stabs). you could route your DJ rig through it as an effects box if you wanted.
wicked stuff, want to get one.But is it easy to understand for a complete beginer?and how much should i pay?where is the best site to get from?Any help would be brill.dan
hey guys i just bought SP-404 .. and i purchased the CF card as 4 Giga .. is it compitable with it or not .. i didnt opened it yet .. but i heared its not compitale in 4 giga capacity .. help me out ... ty
hi japajew6, i made this whole song on my Palm with an app called Bhajis. i then exported the separate channels into the SP404 for performance. you *could* make something similar using only the 404 and imported tones/drum sounds, but that is not how this was done. thanks for watching : )
hello, can it automatically loop just recorded sample, so that you could live record to different pads, and then start switching them on/off? or need to record everything in advance and then just sequence?
I use a Sandisk 512 meg card. The largest card the 404 will take is 1 gig. Roland lists some recommended models/brands on p50 of the manual. hope you get it working, peace
the SP itself won't record the jam, you have to record its outputs into your PC, 4-track, tape player or whatever you have. thanks for watching :) peace
the sounds you hear are isolated sections of a song i wrote on another platform. i then transferred loops from that song into the SP-404 so i could arrange and manipulate them on the fly.
the default sounds the SP-404 comes with are pretty horrible - i deleted them pretty quickly
i really like the track! do you make the track in a software and remix it live? or do you use samples and trigger them all while mixing? like how do you the drums and stuff?
rexrhino - i plan to record another take of this track soon; i'm currently trying to figure out the best way to get a clear sound recording with my camera
It would be nice to get another version of you playing, while recording the outs of the sampler directly. It is a bit distorted and hard to hear in its current state because of the mic recording, but I would really like to hear more.
great stuff, drewz

imagiag 3 years ago
hi; the 404 can't record loops while the sequencer is running, so all the sounds are prepared in advance. :)
drewzletube 3 years ago
thanx for quick reply, 555 seems to be what i need then
imagiag 3 years ago
actually i just ordered 404 too ;)) the 555 was too expensive for me, and i can live without live sampling, thanx again for your video!

What memory card do you use?
