I never got why everyone thought Vega was so hard. If he climbed the cage, ready a dragon punch. When he backflips throw a slow hadoken, and jump towards him with a hurricane kick, generally when I fight him he ends up in the corner, with a broken claw, being mauled. One of the easier fights in this game...

@MrConeman Easy to say that now after playing it all these years. When i was a kid you didn't really think about it like that, Vega destroyed me so many times. I remember fighting him down to the last pixel, he jumps on the cage...i think im all charged and prepared with the flash kick...shit!! Izuna Dropped = DEAD

@reniisgod Hah, no I mean I get that you're right of course, I didn't think about it quite so tactically as a kid, but it did happen by sheer osmosis of just playing the game. I always had much more trouble with Sagat! Though that didn't last :)

@MrConeman I think the bottom line is players like me and you must have played arcade mode to death..even to this day perhaps? The more you play the more you learn the CPU's mind obviously. Like with Sagat as your example. High Tiger shot...low tiger shot...repeat many times till you can time a jump in, even then you had to be precise as Tiger Uppercut would be waiting for you if messed up! The game is still absolutely awesome to this day. I play HD Remix now, but i still go back to this.

I swear I hated this dude Vega. I used to play this game with Chun Li and I had this thing that I wanted to complete the game without taking any damage in a single round at the hardest difficaulty. I always did great UNTIL I got to this fucker. He always got me every single time. So adventually I ended up trashing the game and my snes with it. But it was all worth it just for the relief of not having to hear yooooooo! When he dives from that cage. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

When playing inthe easier difficulties, Vega wasn't as difficult as some other fighters like Sagat. But when playing in the harder difficulties, every one else felt really easy compared to Vega.

When you know how to beat him, he and Balrog(boxer) are much easier to beat than Saga and M.Bison..(well, they are much easier than blanka or Honda for my concern..)
