So who would you claim as your main musical influences?

i did compare this to the Dean Martin version and it is very similar which is not a bad thing because he was such a great singer but there are also a few other versions around including Robbie Willams, Westlife etc. Did any of those versions influence you the most?

Anyway i love what you did with the song. Keep making more and seeings as you are surrounded by rats u could always do Ben (which believe it or not was written about a pet rat)

@bobthepeaceful Although Dean Martin is a massive influence to me, the main person who truly introduced me to swing was Robbie. My mother bought that album when it came out and I never stopped listening to it. I watched the live broadcast of it on television and everything. It changed the way I heard music. After that, Jazz and Swing just became a part of me.

@davanti apparently the song Ben is taken from a movie which ive never seen, but ive read that its about a boy who has some incurable disease and is befriended by a rat.

Now i have this vision of you holding one of your friends 6 rats and looking lovingly at it (with a peg over your nose) and singing Ben to it. There wouldn't be a dry eye this side of the Tasman.

While on the subject of rats apparently they are quite smart they are smarter that a whole lot of other animals including a cow.

what is this phenomenon? why do people's accents disappear when singing? of course i'm American so for me you sound like i do, thus, no accent. the same goes for ozzy, most of the time you'd need a mumbling, bumbling translator to understand him but once he opens his mouth to sing it's almost as if the accent (English with a dash of drug use and old age) was never there

What can I say? Im not normally a fan of swing altho Michael Buble has gone a long way towards changing that but this is absolutely brilliant.
