  • american humans maybe lmao, they're pretty stupid

  • yeah san diego zoo don't have any chimps [Pan troglodytes]. which is funny cuz most people know more about chimps. those are bonobos [Pan paniscus]. you can tell because of the sexual swelling that you see on the females and generally bonobos are alot more calm and "human-like" than chimpanzees

  • THEY DON'T LOOK LIKE CHIMPS TO ME.

  • those are acully bonobos

  • @sixaremycharms huge differences between chimp and bonobos...and that's how one scientist had two "chimps" and realized one was different in behaviour and look, the first to observe there is another species of Great Ape.

  • Thank you for posting this. We are the stewards of the animals, and most of us are failing miserably at it. You set an important example.

  • @kittygodmother To: "Thank you for posting this. We are the stewards of the animals, and most of us are failing miserably at it. You set an important example." Thank you but I do virtually nothing to eliminate the unforgivable & inconceivable & utterly unnecessary suffering of our primate brothers & sisters. I hope everyone reads the video description & educates themselves & everyone else to this utter travesty. We aren't really stewards of anything except our own habitat-thus ALL of EARTH!

  • "He must get all the chicks." Sorry to disillusion you, but "he" is one of the chicks.

  • Why did it have a hanging ass? xD

  • @sharma19143 I think that was a vagina...lol

  • animal testing is fuckin disgusting

  • @stett99 In reply: Yeah, if our species survives, some day the whole civilization will hopefully look back on how we treat other species with shock and horror and say: "How utterly barbaric!" Especially with regard to so many species so closely related to our own...like the primates...or even other mammals...like rats even...it really is horrific...

  • You see, curing cancer, curing world diseases, but instead, scientists wants to find out if chimpanzees can laugh? LOL

  • @DavidTheCatholic testing on animals in any situation does not help anyone to move forward. See chimps are NOT humans and humans are not chimps. So why test on them or any other animals. This is the 21st Century we don't need to use live animals in testing.

  • Amazing, they just don't use tools but actually fashion a tool for a specific use. I just learned another new discovery about apes which was thought only to be a human trait. Forgot what it was called though. Perhaps JamesHGraff could help clarify. It's when one person will help another knowing that he will not benefit from the action what so ever. 'Ult...' something? Anyway, I was amazed it was discovered in some individual apes.

  • When i first saw a chimp in real life i was like what the fuck its like a humane.

  • These are bonobos - and I can understand why he thought it was a guy - it does look like testicles even though it is an anogenital female swelling. But the guy is right, in the wild they have sex more than us probably!

  • wtf is that pink thing on his ass

  • pretty sure that IS his ass... :P

  • It means that she is female, and is most likely to get pregnant if she has sex. That "pink thing" is a blood-filled sac, and is a great source of attraction for males.

  • It's a female in estrus.

  • @TACOSUPREME15 It is her genitals. They get like that when they are ready to mate.

  • @charlieHUscene Regarding: "It is her genitals. They get like that when they are ready to mate" Thanks for clearing that up....for everyone! And thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

  • I love all the info you provide in the video description. Amazing!

  • Numerous other studies including one involving a chimpanzee named Nim Chimpsky have been conducted since with varying levels of success. There is ongoing debate among some scientists, notably Noam Chomsky and David Premack, about the great apes' ability to learn language.

  • Before the discovery of tool use in chimps, it was believed that humans were the only species to make and use tools, but several other tool-using species are now known.

    Studies of language

Allen and Beatrice Gardner in the 1960s spent 51 months attempting to teach a chimpanzee, named Washoe, American Sign Language. Washoe reportedly learned 151 signs in those 51 months. Over a longer period of time, Washoe reportedly learned over 800 signs.

  • The enjoyment of tickling in chimpanzees does not diminish with age.

    Tool use

Modern chimpanzees use tools, and recent research indicates that chimpanzee stone tool use dates to at least 4300 years ago. A recent study revealed the use of such advanced tools as spears, which Common Chimpanzees in Senegal sharpen with their teeth, being used to spear Senegal Bushbabies out of small holes in trees.

  • There are instances in which non-human primates have been reported to have expressed joy. One study analysed and recorded sounds made by human babies and Bonobos when tickled. It found, that although the Bonobo's laugh was a higher frequency, the laugh followed a pattern similar to that of human babies and included similar facial expressions. Humans and chimpanzees share similar ticklish areas of the body, such as the armpits and belly.

  • Chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans show laughterlike vocalizations in response to physical contact, such as wrestling, play chasing, or tickling. This is documented in wild and captive chimpanzees. Common Chimpanzee laughter is not readily recognizable to humans as such, because it is generated by alternating inhalations and exhalations that sound more like breathing and panting.
