John no doubt had dormant phsyic abilities I think. You can tell if you read enough or listen enough to his interviews. He always knew or felt things were happening or going to happen to him. he knew he was going to die and he said it and acted that way
He was clearly a control freak. That's why he didn't like acting, he was not in control of when HE wanted to act, but like he said, he would have preferred directing because he was in control of everything, much like him being in control of everything in the studio.
He kept on talking about his hypothetical "sudden death", and he had no idea what would happen like, 3 months later...But somehow, I can't help but laugh. I think he'd think it's kinda funny.
One reason he changed his phone number constantly is because in around 1977 or 1978 he had recurring kidnapping/death threats against Sean from an anonymous caller. The calls eventually stopped, but John remained very nervous about the whole ordeal up until the day he died.
Wow, fantastic stuff. Trying to find the Playboy interviews with no luck. I have an old LP titled A Heart Play with snippets but looking for more!!!

It says on my profile that the name is just a joke and that I am actually a huge fan of NASA and the space program.

I love hearing this stuff. It just makes John more and more human. And even though its a long interview I still can't help but feel unsatisfied.

This interview got published in 1981 as a book called 'The Playboy Interviews' (and republished in 2000 as 'Last Interview', by David Sheff).
It actually wasn't really his last interview, as Rolling Stone interviewed him in December 1980.
