  • Wow, fantastic stuff. Trying to find the Playboy interviews with no luck. I have an old LP titled A Heart Play with snippets but looking for more!!!

  • man I love this guy love ya john

  • 8:22-8:57 Wow...........

  • Wonderful interview. I always loved listening to him talk about his life. Magnificent person. I'll miss him forever.

  • Damn i can relate to John on song writting...i also get frustrated when i feel that i cant write a good lyric x'D

  • I'd never heard this before. Fascinating and tragic at the same time.

  • @cutandpaste1

It says on my profile that the name is just a joke and that I am actually a huge fan of NASA and the space program.

  • John no doubt had dormant phsyic abilities I think. You can tell if you read enough or listen enough to his interviews. He always knew or felt things were happening or going to happen to him. he knew he was going to die and he said it and acted that way

  • I could listen to John talk all day.....what a fascinating human being he was. He is someone we can all relate to in one way or another.

  • its hard to listen to him talk about dying

  • I don't like phones either.

  • He was clearly a control freak. That's why he didn't like acting, he was not in control of when HE wanted to act, but like he said, he would have preferred directing because he was in control of everything, much like him being in control of everything in the studio.

  • I love hearing this stuff. It just makes John more and more human. And even though its a long interview I still can't help but feel unsatisfied.

  • Legend!

  • He kept on talking about his hypothetical "sudden death", and he had no idea what would happen like, 3 months later...But somehow, I can't help but laugh. I think he'd think it's kinda funny.

  • One reason he changed his phone number constantly is because in around 1977 or 1978 he had recurring kidnapping/death threats against Sean from an anonymous caller. The calls eventually stopped, but John remained very nervous about the whole ordeal up until the day he died.

  • great. thank u

  • Yes,thanks for this He sounded really relaxed and reflective in this interview.I bet he was seducing her though at the same time....

  • You know I needed to hear this. I'm having writers block and it's nice to hear John had it too and how he overcame it. :-)

  • Every interview you post with John so informative. Thanks.

    D.B.

  • Mrs Yoko Ono tell that she remebered that John in 1980 talking much about death. and now clearly we may see that john feel dangerous of the next days.

IIt's so sad for me. So sad.

  • @TheKonradKuba Are you black?

  • @libraryquiet How is that question relevant?

  • @lifestraight That person's comment has a very raggaeish beat to it

  • This interview got published in 1981 as a book called 'The Playboy Interviews' (and republished in 2000 as 'Last Interview', by David Sheff).

It actually wasn't really his last interview, as Rolling Stone interviewed him in December 1980.

  • Thank you for this !!!!

  • Thank you! Interesting insight into his days w/out Yoko.

  • Ok.
