The original track can be found on the CDs "Return to Eden" and "Sixty minutes with All About Eve", currently available at a snip from Amazon.
The notes from "Keepsakes" say: The recording session was fraught... Zwingmann left... D for Desire would be reviewed with the words "D for Drivel". But their sound was changing fast... "Suddenly, I had to think beyond my bad sub-Siouxsie impersonation."
Check out some of the magical songs that came next :o)
I think it is Julianne Regan from AAE, though I'm sure it wasn't even a b-side at that time - I think that Siouxsie has a slightly harder edge to the voice, though I really could be wrong. Great Track anyway - but it isn't 'Happy House' by any stretch of the imagination. AAE's cover of 'Emily Plays' is pretty good, but again, it isn't 'Arnold Layne.'
@SiouxsieSehnsucht Thank you, I've been looking for a while with no luck. I had an album ( their only release?)of theirs on a cassette tape when I was in my early 20's, it either got lost during a move or someone 'liberated' it from me. I used to hear songs from that release in the clubs now and again, but now it's like they never existed =/ I can't even remeber any song titles....
This is one of their best efforts, unfortunately they also sounded ALOT like Siouxsie here( which isn't bad as I enjoy Siouxsie). The band had much potential that was never realized. Tragic, ironic.
all about eve first single (with " don't follow me" on the b side) 12 inchs on eden records (artwork by 23 envelope as 4AD) recorded in may 1985....at the time the drummer was manuela zwingmann (formely with x-mal deutschand i think)
Thanks for posting this great tune SiouxsieSehnsucht. I don't know either if its really All About Eve. Maybe one of their very earlys. A very nice song, anyway.
end of the day is a great track, as was love leads nowhere. I prefer this era of their music over the nicer stuff that followed...

This was All about Eves first hit and a rarity at that, worth a pretty penny if you have the original single.

It's the title track of their debut ep. All songs of that ep are in this style.
