  • Wow! This is dangerously slow. And yet she pulls it off. I remember being amazed hearing her sing Verdi when she was so, so young. Around 25 or so. I thought back then that she was going to kill her voice. She lasted much longer than I thought she would. Definitely a unique sound.

  • La Walley??? I think that you wanted to write La Wally!!!

    Magnificent, wonderful Katia!

    Thank you so much.

  • The tempo is fascinatingly slow and it works beautifully because of her elegance and control. In this video, she's almost too beautiful to look at.

  • Quelle merveille!

  • I hear the resonance, the pitch, the vibrato, and the consonants- but the vowels sound... muffled to me. I'm not sure if it's the quality of her voice, or the quality of the recording- perhaps a bit of both. I must admit I like her interpretation (which surprises me, because I normally prefer to hear a quicker tempo for this piece).

By the way, you misspelled the title of the opera- La Wally.

  • Esta é uma ária maravilhosa e Katia é uma das suas grandes intérpretes. Linda mulher, linda voz e comovente interpretação.

  • This aria is gorgeous for all, but this is a spectacular interpretation. It beats the other one of hers put on You Tube three times over.

  • She is the most beautiful soprano in the world! The voice of angel!

And this aria is written for her!
