as a guide we try to make money so we try to sell trips but if you think that methow is a secret from the rest of washington state anglers your kidding yourselves. the methow is a great river i love it but with all the great water in washington state most anglers chose other water. steelhead on the methow are great but its the trophy trout that is amazing where else can an angler go and catch the largest rainbow, and Cutty 25 inches plus and steelhead all in the same trip and bull trout wow
Referring to your comment on my video, stack mending is allowing extra slack in a presentation and placing it on a single current line. The drift lane that I chose is too technical to do this because of that boulder. Sure, you can stack mend right there but you'll have a big pile-up of line and won't catch anything.
natono 20, Glad you are watching close and playing by the rules, but this is actually this is a pretty old video that we shot prior to retention being mandatory. We retain every hatchery fish we catch up there and are happy to do so especially since they have increased the catch limit so much. Thanks for watching and fish on dude!
hopefully no game warden johnny watches this... mandatory retention of adipose steelhead is such a hard rule to abide by, when you can 30 fish days on the Met.

I understand those feelings guys, many of the places I fish are more popular than they use to be, but the Methow has been in Northwest Fly Fishing and on several nationally televised fishing shows, every blog and website out there has lots of information on where/how to go. We simply help people go fishing that would like a little assistance. Sorry you feel that way, but the folks that go with us just want to experience the same things that you do.
the methow river for years been a good steelhead river for flys and drift fishing,it a little secret of eastern washington, not like the grand ronde river that is world renowned river for steelhead fly fishing, a few years ago on the methow river I was fly fishing there I hook a 37 in,, about 12 to 14lb, steelhead ,that a rare fish to hook on the methow most of the fish are 4 to 8lb fish, keep the secret of methow, from the world,
