  • I went to school and grew up with Jamal Moore....all this time I didn't know he could sing like this. I am truly a fan of the Yellow Jackets. You don't see too many male groups as big as this one that has so much harmony and melody!!!!

  • Awesome group.Being from Rochester< I can truly say,you gyys represent us to the extreme. Very proud.

  • i am IN LOVE with them.

  • so many great groups man I dont want to judge this competition

  • Yellow jacket actually came to our school, School 58 :D in Rochester Ny

  • Did anyone else notice that 2 guys in there were the 2 guys from the Taylor Swift: You Belong With Me Gay Version music video? lol

  • @SweetiePieStitch yeah that's because the yellow jackets produced that music video using their own members, Matt and Michael. They did the same with the glee parody using them and other members as well a couple of years ago

  • Too bad this show isn't seen a lot compared to Amercan's Got Talent or The X Factor. A lot of people should see this.

  • the Yellowjackets are meh fav of everyone on the sing off, they r so awesome! Danny and Aron r so cool...

  • I liked this a lot.......very nice together sound.

  • hey whats thee song that they sang in kenyahhhh with thee kids

  • i love it how as a UR student i've only been watching this video over and over. haven't even seen their performances b/c this one just blows me away every time. so proud of you guys : )

  • Aaron Sperber will you please, oh please, marry me?

  • I believe performance and delivery is just as important as the music. Their delivery was amazing, I was very impressed.

  • Aaron I really "dug" your lead! Lmao haha

  • they're awesome!

  • i loved this performance awesome

  • The lead reminds me of Andy Grammer.

  • I love the song but theirs was really rush

  • I really like their version, but the whole thing seemed a little rushed, and that made some of their voices suffer a little. Like I heard a few edgy notes towards the end due to so much going on: them waving their towels, moving around, AND singing. I was surprised they were in the bottom two, but looking back I can kind of see why now.

  • I love this song. I love the way they did it. I wish I hadn't missed those first performances. So glad they're here on YouTube.

  • they should win just for how powerful this was <3

  • i love yellow jackets

  • completely awesome!!!!!!

  • proud to say I'm from Rochester, and Ross rows at the same boathouse as me :)

  • i love how this song is originally about the world cup but it being truly about that brotherhood came out in this!

  • @SaxophoneDerby lol? It's not about the world cup at all.... it's about conflict and fighting in Africa/Somalia specifically... It's a powerful message from a person who experienced the strife.

  • @dvdmproductions Thank you! It is a shame that this song is only recognized as part of the ad campaign for the FIFA World Cup. I'm not going to lie, that is the first time I heard it, but I knew there was no way it was written for a soccer cup. Such a great and powerful song.

  • @melliet I agree. I'm in love with Troubador. There are some incredible inspirational songs on that album. The guy really had a grasp of what Africa is really like (I'm a white South African and I'm constantly saddened by the corruption of how blacks are easily sucked in by corrupt black leaders). He really understands what his own people are doing and he knows how to fix it. Awesome music.

  • @melliet This song was originally made for FIFA by a Somali/Canadian artist named K'naan. Then when the Haiti tragedy happened, K'naan re-aaranged/re-wrote the song and several young Canadian artist/bands gathered and recorded the Haiti version to raise funds for Haiti relief. They rush the recording of this song in Vancouver during the winter olympics. Both the FIFA and Haiti version is still here on youtube. Canadian version is called Young Artists for Haiti.

  • @dvdmproductions Its actually about soccer because it says "Rejoice in the Beautiful Game" and the beautiful game is soccer so yeah

  • @AngryGoats555 it could also be an allegory to life...? because for some reason, i suspect this song is about way more than soccer

  • @dvdmproductions IT was also the theme to the FIFA World cup

  • @dstur111 yeah and...? The album came out in early 2009... a long way before the world cup. It was named the theme because of the relevance it had for a world cup to be hosted in Africa. Believe me, I know; I'm from South Africa...

  • @dvdmproductions Saying you are from somehwere does not make you an expert on that location.

  • @dstur111 It makes me more of an expert than you and if you ever listened to any K'naan song and actually paid attention to what he was really saying, you would know.

  • I LOVE AARON's VOICE! So Jealous. DX

  • Good to hear some old fashioned "Harmony" rather than just screaming or rapping. It is hard to find males who can REALLY sing these days. That's why there is less competition for males than females, whose voice doesn't change. This sends a message to males that it is o.k. to sing! I like the mix of cultures and the way you exhibited your Eastman abilities! Good luck! Dare to be different but still sing what you know people want to hear when they tune in!

  • i got a I <3 YJ tshirt from their concert!!!

  • @XxLLCutieXx Me too... Aaron signed my heart. LOL. I love him sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

  • Or I could just be someone who went to school with them for 4 years rather than meeting them for one night...whatev.

  • @PhotoBomb2000 Whatever..

  • Sorry, guys. I'm FutureBroadway101's sister. Aaron said NOT to give out his e-mail.

  • @PhotoBomb2000 Dude, I had a conversation with Aaron, and he was so sweet. And it wasn't even in public. It was after a night concert, and my family were the last people there. I was asking him some questions, and they were great. I got hugs from all of them. Besides, who can NOT love obnoxious people? I'm obnoxious, so we related. LOL. He was great. So was Jamal, Matt, and Ross. All so nice. I could go on and on about them, and how sweet they are, but you're a jerks. So you'd never listen.

  • Ooh, IMPRESSIVE key change. Just saying. :)

  • and we get to meet them

  • There coming to my school for my chorus concert tonmotoe!!!

  • AMAZING<3

  • omg this is an amazing song and to set the bar so high being the first group outta the gate hope they go really far

  • I went to school with Jamal Moore

  • Sounds like something that can fit in the Lion King. Haha, I like it.

  • they are amazing!

  • the three people who dislike this are deaf..

  • UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! I cried and had tears in my eyes by the time the Yellow Jackets finished singing. I was also fortunate to hear them sing this song live at a fund raiser here in Buffalo, NY on Saturday, October 1, 2011. They are obviously deeply connected to this song and to the poeple of Kenya, which gave power to their voices. Everyone was on their feet, enjoying the moment, just happy to hear them sing with such emotion. I think I'll go wave a flag now; you should too. A+

  • GOOSE. BUMPS!

  • My music teacher said this song wasn't as good as the one with K'Naan, it said it was to crappy. I stood up and slapped her fucking face 50 times... and motor-boated her --New York school's hire crappy music teachers

  • @XxSkaterConxX I have to disagree the school i went to (in Syracuse) had a great music department. about how they felt about this song can't tell you

  • B+, Best group!!! in my opinion great intro :)

  • Such an awesome performance.

  • I recognise 4 of those guys from NROTC xD haven't seen them in years! lol good to know what they've been up too :P and didn't call me!

  • why is it most of the people could go on american idol or the x factor and win it and not try? this show shows the most potential of amazing talent

  • @likeglockwork I can see what you mean! I only started watching this year because I heard the Yellowjackets were on it, and I expected it to be like American Idol or X Factor, where tons of mediocre singers compete, and the judges are mostly there to humiliate them. I was glad to see this show is actually full of talented singers, and the judges actually give good constructive criticism

  • @likeglockwork Because on those shows they want someone they can control and mold and autotune into a product. These people have talent. Music execs don't know what to do with talent.

  • fav. song

  • Go represent, Rochester!

  • Being from rochester ny, i love these guys. And its saying something if they study at Eastman. That place is super crazy to get accepted too

  • I melt a little bit when Aaron starts singing (3:20 ish), he is incredible.

  • @vadan25 Danny Kicks in after it around 3:30 ... I die at that long note... >.<

  • this is the only singing show ive seen where all the contestants are great

  • Lovee the yelloww jacketts :)
