It's out of tune because you have to be doing a certain MPH, and IM sure you were going the correct MPH. They have one in Japan too, and theirs is 31MPH. I'm pretty sure you have to do exactly 55mph on that road (in video above)
So the city council meeting was this evening, and demolition of the road started this morning at around 7am. I spoke at the meeting about the road, expressing my concern about how quickly they were to get rid of it, and was told that reason they moved so quickly was because of safety concerns regarding all of the u-turns. When I asked how many car accidents had actually occured on the road as a result of u-turns, i was told by Mayor Paris, "Well, none"
They should design these rumble strips to say SLOW DOWN if you are going too fast....then again, you'd get everyone in town and in the state paying a visit just to speed up and hear that. ha ha ha
I am sure record companies are very, very interested in this. Not only does it sound better than 90% of their "artists" but they could charge a toll for people to drive over it.
I understand that this could get noisey on those summer nights thta the wind doesn't blow, but if it is only five people out of all those houses out there, I think you make them suck it up and deal with the totally awesome thing this dreay Antelope Valley finally got. Will puts us on the map with Germany, Japan and South Korea. The only other three places in the world that have this cool kind of road.

According to the AV Press, they are going to shave the road and repave it starting around Wednesday Sept 24. I called the City Hall and was put in touch with Pauline East, who said she'd recieved around 50 calls and the multiple complaints she recieved were from the same 5 people (presumably the ones mentioned in the paper). She said if we were really intent on keeping the road we should all attend the city council meeting at 5pm on Tuesday Sept 23. I hope everyone will attend
There are about two blocks away and if there are several cars on the road at one time it isn't music you are hearing it is a bunch on noise. Unfortunately, you couple that with the fact that there are only four of these in the world and you want to tell the neighbors to suck it up. But Tomorrow it will be all over and a flat plain road again, indicitive of the AV!

i read about this in the newspaper yesterday and i had to check it out. such a trip! the article says the tune is from the Lone Ranger. there is a sign now that says "musical hwy" . it's was done for a Honda commerical.
But thats cool, good for the town too. Now I know where Lancaster is. if I ever go to the states, I'm gonna visit, just for the magical musical road..
