Okay, from what I just researched, the word is actually spelt as "stelo", and it can mean "bar, base, blade, halm, haulm, radical, rod, root, root of a word, root word, stalk, stem, theme".

And I guess that here it was written with the meaning of "blade of grass".

Thanks for your reply, suiryuukishi. That's part of my result. Apparently this is a masculine word while stella or stelle is feminine. In this way I guess stello might be a different word if this is not a adjective. So actually what I am wondering is that why I cannot find an entry on this 'stello' in Wiktionary or WordReference, etc.

It seems more like [stello] instead of [stella] to me. Firstly, I heard a [o] sound not a [a]. Secondly, though [Stella] is simply the star while I can't find a entry on [stello] in my dictionary. I googled and found a page translated that sentence into [It adorns each blade of grass] and another page with Spanish version text of ' Già il sole dal Gange ' using the word 'pasto'.
