  • She plays this piece even better than most adults play it.

  • I used to play this piece... I hated it....

  • @dragzz1

well, that didn't help you very much did it? =P

and ps: why are you watching stuff you don't like?? O.o

  • I would like to see how good she is now my guess is she's even better.

  • im mike her brother is ben i have known her for as long like 6 years mabie her nd her brother both play cello so they sound pretty good .

  • i just got this piece to practice on over the holidays.. its quite hard (atleast thats what i think)

  • This was fabulous! Keep it up. :)

  • Great job!!

  • elise! good job! :)

    -anna :)

  • Thank you so much everyone!

    and thanks for the advice.

I am the cellist by the way.

    haha.

    (:

  • wow amazing! lovin the facial expressions!

  • Nice performance! The scale up the A string was excellent. Ah, this is such a fun piece!

  • I wish I started as early as you did...maybe...just maybe I would be somewhat better. Who knows.

  • Elice, done awesome! :)

  • Hey!...Very good interpretation...

    Beautiful sound, sensibility....

    Excellent....come on again and again...

    Regards

  • Hi Mr. Paul! It's sam - your student. I wish I good do that...

  • Very clean cut, i love it, she gets an amazing sound! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! The pianist had an amazing boroch interpertation of the piece. Overall, it was very nice!

  • Wow. I've been looking for recordings of this piece on YouTube for an hour. This is the best one so far. Especially that run up the A string at the end of the first page---that's the best I've ever seen it. The recording could have been better...the piano is overwhelming. When you get older you will be an amazing musician.

  • AMAZING!!

  • ...wow shes very good

  • oh, this piece sounds so good. Can i know how long it takes before a first grader can reach this state?

  • it depends, on a lot of things...

first off, the quality of the teacher the first grader will need to have, and also very importantly how much they PRACTICE!!!!!! This piece is not that hard but you have to be able to play the higher notes well. :]

and if you play it this fast...of course...you have to have the proper technique...

^.^ I love playing this piece.

  • I think she is a darling, you go girl :)

  • Yay I'm playing this song! : )

I play it a tad bit faster but oh well, who cares. It's very fun. ^_^

  • bravo do you play a full size cello and what state do you live

  • as said, piano a tad too loud.. and at the end of of the hmm how should i describe it..1-2-3 1-2-3-4-5 entry, (i had trouble with it too) she rushes the ending notes.

    very nice vibrato and technique.

her teacher did a great job! i think she deserves a better cello that has a fuller vibrant sound.

  • Holy cow! She's good! I cant even play this piece yet!!! >_<

I'm getting there though. Kevin is helping me improve so fast...so I'd say in a few months I'll be playing this piece. I only wish I'd been playing for five or six years!! Jeez! Lucky! :(

    Kudos to her cello teacher...:P

  • if she wasn't so aware of the camera... I think she could give a very good performance of this piece... needs a bit more passion... and pianist... don't give up the day job!!!!

  • well, I think most young ladies have the "fantasy" of being a movie star. Remember this was for her friends, so a little "camera awareness" is to be expected. Pianist is her father, degreed in performance and music education, professor at UF, and nurse at Shands. Bad piano, and well....you know.

Heck I'll be lucky if I still remember a scale fingering on the piano!

  • even for what sounds like a full upright harp, it could sound better than what seems like a 30-50 year old piano

  • @glowingrosie What are you talking about? They both did great.

  • She's been playing about 5 years, maybe six.

  • ok i feel better because ive only played for 3!!! and well u know the school program sucks at middle sckool,,,, ; (

  • Hey, I'm 15 right now, I know exactly what you mean! It would really benefit you to invest in a private teacher if you want to progress in cello. For me, I was at a stand still in cello, for one year I have had a teacher and I'm already playing bach cello suites, soloing in my orchestra, being comfortable with my cello etc. And I owe it all to private lessons with a great teacher.

  • i think she's very good. the recording has the piano a tad too loud, but she has great sound and great technique. congratulations to her teacher. (i've been playing cello for nearly 10 years and i'm not this good... i just played this piece last week for an orchestra audition)

  • wow ten years?

i've been playing for about 4 years and i played that for my solo last year

  • well, i just switched teachers and she's taking apart my whole technique. it's really hard because i have to relearn everything :/

  • haha

I've been playing 3 years and taking lessons for one year and I'm playing this already. :]

but it's not about how long it takes you to learn it, it's how well you play it! ^__^

  • Really nice job:-)

    How long did she play?

  • OMG Can you guys play Louis Moreau Gottschalk's, Grand Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 67 PLEASEEEE! :-)

  • I find it very VERY hard to stay still during that piece. I always end up movin' around a bit. She did a loverly job in the words of Miss Hepburn's character, Holly Golightly. Oh and I agree with InnGook though, the piano was a bit loud.

  • Great job,

    MI

  • but, piano is too loud between 35second~40second.

  • AWESOME!!! How old is she?

  • 12 years old.

  • wow, she is really good!
