Yeah, the Ford is any other car paint quality. The Lexus is sand waxed and is coated with this clear coat that is seen on Ferrari's'. American cars have that gauge flick, it should be more exclusive. not on every vehicle.

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and theres 201 000 KM on it.. 0 problems.. my first car was a 93 mustang it died at 394 000 KM but had no rpoblem with it before that. I love Ford very underrated cars
I can tell you from experience, Ford puts a heck of a good paint job on their vehicles.The last thing an owner wants is to put good money into a new vehicle and have the paint job get ruined by flying stones.
That's the case in most of the snow belt states where salt is now being mixed with sand which of course contains stones which....WILL fly up and and hit the front end of your vehicle.
Our 2008 Mercury Milan came through last winter without the need to be touched up.

It has higher horsepower and its a bit lighter, not to mention because of its 8 Speed auto, the LS460 has a better rated fuel economy. But overall, its hard to compare because the Lexus has a N/A V8 while the Ford has a twin turbo V6. Interestingly, if you think about it, the Nissan GT-R has a 3.5 V6 twin turbo too... but thats even less of a close comparison

Ha, ha these companies are always trying to trick and confuse the public. If you notice, Ford tried to be sneaky and compare a 2009 Lexus LS against the 2010 Ford Taurus, because the 2010 Lexus LS has Anti-Scratch Clear Coat technology which all but eliminates abrasions, scratches and dings like you see here in the video. So, as usual most of time if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Yeah, the Ford is any other car paint quality. The Lexus is sand waxed and is coated with this clear coat that is seen on Ferrari's'. American cars have that gauge flick, it should be more exclusive. not on every vehicle.

Although you can't compare a Taurus to an LS in terms of things like refinement, features, driveability etc. the fact is Lexus paints their $80,000 cars with the WORST most PATHETIC quality paint. My aunt has a 2005 ES with 38,000 miles that gets waxed 2-3 times a year since it was new and the paint is literally peeling off the bumpers, hood, even the chrome on the body side moldings are flaking off. It's pathetic that my 4 year old Mercury SUV with 52000 miles is in FAR better shape

You may want to re-compare it to a 2010 LS... But honestly, with better style, more comfort, more power, and space, I'd still take the LS. But I will admit, the Taurus is a nice car. FOR IT'S PRICE. But you have to remember, they are in two different car markets. Now, say 2010 Taurus to 2010 Accord. Taurus would be my pick. But they can't, shouldn't cross the line of High-line Luxury and economy cars. Let the flaming begin!

I can tell you from experience, Ford puts a heck of a good paint job on their vehicles.The last thing an owner wants is to put good money into a new vehicle and have the paint job get ruined by flying stones.
That's the case in most of the snow belt states where salt is now being mixed with sand which of course contains stones which....WILL fly up and and hit the front end of your vehicle.
Our 2008 Mercury Milan came through last winter without the need to be touched up.

its not that the paint on the taurus is better.
It was designed and engineered differently when compared with the Lexus LS.

Dude Ford has been making shitty cars since the beginning of 90's..... Lexus has been making exceptionally good and reliable cars since beginning of 90's.
Average Lexus can last for 15 years and you can put on it well over 200 000 miles.
If someone offers me Lexus with 150 000 miles let's say from 1998. I'll be wiling to pay 4000 - 5000$ because I know that that car will last.

Oh yeah! Most definitely! I've seen PLENTY of Ford Tauruses from '99 down with WELL OVER 175k-200k on them and, still running strong(like a Bull should)! Lexuses are VERY seldom seen with over 150k on them without any problems(electrical or, mechanical). Tauruses are built to last and, their very tuff! Some people just s**t on them because, they're Ford biased! Around my part of town..., I barely see Lexuses that's more than 10yrs. old...but, I see Fords of all models and, yrs. EVERYWHERE!
